Thumbs up The shows just keep coming

Vancouver seems to be getting its fair share of great talent for this summer. i wonder if there are any reasons for this?????? Hats off to all the premoters. just looking at the threads there are some big shows still ahead too. what does everybody else think about it?

Nevermind the shows that are unannounced still!! It's all different genre's though so its not really ALOT of one type of EDM but I think I can say for the most part that we're a satisfied dance music scene

The competititon is so intense here though that it is kind of killing the scene. no one will go to see locals play and if it isnt armin van buuren every night you just wont get tons of people (unless its all ages). the crowds in van are very snooty.

thing is I wouldn't mind going to see a local dj but I never seem to find out about their shows. are they always posted in the events calender thread. I use the events thread while in school in toronto all the time or maybe i'll just meet some other ta's that know the scene better. just my opinion though.......

totally agree with Sean on this one...the homegrown talent does not get recognition...they all have small gigs, but unfortunately never get a larger audience. more places like red room/aqua must develope to help the local dj's get more exposure.

!!! Locals Rule !!!

...do you think that AVB needs your support or really gives a damn about the health and welfare of our local (Van/CGY) scene ?

Think about it and maybe look around and see what amazing talent is right in front of you. For those of you who know the score, thank you, and my next track is for you!

i was kind of talking about not just local shows but maybe shows with lesser known djs, like some people vivid brought and also a few club shows that did poorly (say Darren Tate and George Acosta). THese are great djs. Theres is no respect by the crowd for anyone but the absolute pinnacle of the industry.

yup, and its only going to get worse at the rate things are going at... people can only afford to go out 1 or two times a month now it seems
