| Police chase ends in driver's shooting death LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- A robbery suspect driving a stolen car led police on a high-speed chase Wednesday that ended with his death in a hail of police gunfire. Sgt. Paul LeBaron with the Long Beach Police Department said the driver was pronounced dead at a hospital. No one else was injured. When the chase ended, the man got out of the car in a parking lot and "it was clear he had a handgun," LeBaron said. "More than one officer fired more than one round," the officer added. LeBaron said the car had been stolen during a home-invasion robbery. The chase, which began at 5:40 p.m. (8:40 p.m. ET), lasted about 20 minutes and reached speeds of 100 mph. After stopping in the parking lot, the driver opened the car door and attempted to flee. When police opened fire, an object flew from the driver's hand and skittered out of reach across the parking lot. Bullets appeared to strike him several times as he attempted to remove something else from a pocket. "Pull back, pull back, pull back," yelled a reporter to a photographer for KABC, which broadcast the shooting live. "We don't want to show anything that graphic," he then told his viewers. "We want everyone at home to realize this is live television." KTTV and KCBS also aired graphic scenes of the shooting. KNBC took the shot, but from a distance. The chase began in Long Beach, where the man drove on Interstate 710, merged onto California Highway 91, then drove onto southbound I-110. At times, he drove along the shoulder, at times along the inside emergency breakdown lane. Several times, he drove against ongoing traffic. At one point, he left the highway in Long Beach and crashed into a guard rail, where he came to a stop. As police approached his car, their guns drawn, the driver threw the car in reverse, and sped off onto a freeway. In San Pedro, south of Los Angeles, he again left the freeway and began driving along surface streets, disregarding traffic lights. After a front tire disintegrated, he drove for miles on the rim, which slowed his progress. The chase ended back in Long Beach near the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Newport Avenue. dont have a link to it, but I saw it yesterday on the news here in Cali.
Think it was on Fox 11 news. Was a trip. Guess most the other stations pulled out to a wide shot when it happened, but the one I saw was up close and personal.
will try to find a link for you.
here is one that shows some of what happened leading up to it, but cuts out right before the killing.

Seriously, sometimes you people appall me. You are asking to see a video of a human being having their life stripped from them, for your entertainment.
News flash, this isn't a movie or television. That man ACTUALLY died. He will never be able to do anything ever again, and you people are being outright disrespectful.
Can you imagine if it had been one of your family members? And the video was circulating around the internet where people could watch your mom, or brother being killed, just for the fun of it?
Or even yourself? Do you have any tact?
I vote this thread be completely deleted.
there's about a 75% chance that i'll kill my brother, videotape it, and upload it to *********** myself.

| Originally posted by josh4 Its not that I don't care. Its not that I have no feelings of concern. I'd debate the issue of the networks airing the footage. I understand what happened and that his life was taken. I'm just saying I want to watch. Its human to be curious about death and to wonder what it looks like to die. Be that from old age, or being gunned down by police. What adolescent boy hasn't imagined that scenario in his head? This wasn't some innocent bystander either, the dude robbed a store and could have killed someone. If you watch the video (you can stop it before the end, I dare you to try) you'll see he almost took out like 5 people on the sidewalk with his car. All that aside: Cooooollllll. |
3-4 days ago a cop shot one 28y old anarchist student in the leg, inside the national technical university of athens...
they attacked him 30 anarchists, he shot in the air first 9-10 times, and they didnt stop, so he shot one in the leg (if i were in his position i'd do the same thing)
Now the attorney general fucks him from behind, cause universities is an asylum and cops are not allowed to enter the university...
they must find a way to solve things out about that asylum thing, if some terrorists put a bomb inside the university i bet no-one will care if the police go inside and kill them all!!!
universities are refuge for every fuckin beelzebub, that sucks!
edit: wait a minute, what i'm talking about? "they must find a way"...hahahaha, they cant even decide when to celebrate mayday, this year we celebrated mayday two times....different day from ministry of health, different day from ministry of education....

Marines are like that. I'm serious. I've met some really fucked up souls.. and yeah.. they're in the US Marine Corps. They're real badasses and everything, but jeez. The government really trains them to be as senseless as possible, it seems.
