What do you pay Insurance Premiums for?

Just doing some research for work.

I wanna know what you think you pay insurance premiums for...be it house insurance, car insurance, liability insurance, or health insurance.

I couldn't get a mortgage without "fire" or "content" insurance.

The condo fees cover the building insurance.

I have a health plan at work.

My car insurance is too much!
