Indeed, Has the classic M1 piano(8)on it.

There are not really any decent piano vsts, sadly.

now if you want a piano, i'm not just talking about your run of the mill shit...if you want a 'real' piano that you're going to be happy with using on anything that requires a piano and are willing to shell out a few dollars for it...i've come to the conclusion on these very serious choices:

Synthology - Ivory Grand Piano

Sampletekk - Black Grand

now THOSE are pianos...forget reason, stienberg the grand or any of that. if you want a piano, those two choices are what you want!!!

well im looking at getting a Korg Triton Studio 61-Key Workstation/Sampler

I don't think you need something like Ivory grand piano for tranceproduction. These are more meant to be standalone pianosound. Most of their attributes get lost if you use them in a trance-mix anyways. I'd save up my money for a rompler-synth or a sample library

well we are doing a classical break down orch sounds and real piano so its kinda important to us to get the classical sound

Posted by Eekarooz on May-15-2005 22:25:

Do you need realistic Orch sounds as well? (extremely realistic)

yes i thought about getting the local symphony to record the peice for me

Posted by Eekarooz on May-15-2005 22:55:

that's quite a task! I don't know the price of that, nor do I know if your local symphony has the greatest recordinggear or not, but if you plan on doing it often, maybe you should look into Gigastudio. I don't have the reference by hand right now, but there's a version that is dedicated to Orchestral and Piano. I remember it being very expensive, so if you plan on doing it for once, and in a legal way, then look for alternatives.

Me myself, I use rompler synths for my piano and orchestral sounds. But I record every note of for example a violin with a different altered Patch-sound to capture the right nuances, to create more realism. It's 10x the amount of work, but for small passages it can really pay off if done well.

well my old music instructor is the head of the symphony and they have nice gear to record with but i will take a look at giga studio to thanks

i'm sure you've heard of these, but for ocherstra its all about:

east west symphonic orchestra

(or for the rich/serious producers)

vienna symphonic orchestra.

pure brilliance...right now i'm using east west symphonic orchestra silver. cheapest of the bunch, i think like $299US...and fuck does it sound good. i particualarily love the french horns, wholey shit, i've never heard a french horn sound so good in my life!

of course with my suggestions in this thread, i'm more then just an EDM producer, and i'm sure others hear are to, so i thought i'd share the best of the best right now in case anyones in the dark about realism in accoustic instruments.
