He has a point?

The observation isn't new at all, its been made about every form of media that has ever existed.

Change a few words and you can transpose the rant to tv, radio, movies, books, magazines, etc. etc.

It's up to the individual to develop their own techniques to mine any media for material they find worthwhile.

True but the internet is young(relatively) and I gues we all have a way to contribute, you cant realy contribute to the rest of the media as easy as to the internet. The point being that everybody can contribute no matter how good theyr idea is, so its realy everybody who surfs it that is responsible in a small way....
I'm not complaning, just thought it was interesting thought

Aren't you just as responsible for every other media though? Aren't you responsible for what kind of movies are made based on which ones you pay to see? Aren't you responsible for what shows are on tv based on which ones are watched?

Your simple participation with time and money is the primary influence. They don't give Ty Pennington his own home improvement show unless Trading Spaces was a huge hit.

How could contributing be any easier than pressing a button on a remote?

Speaking of which, I want to see more seasons of The Bachelor! So i'll be busy monday night for the 3 hour finale Go Sliders dude.
