Took a break from trance for a while
I recently took a hieatus from trance (4 months or so) and explored other generas of EDM. After everthing was said and done I dont get the same feeling I get from trance from other generas of music (i.e. house, dnb, ect.). Just downloaded the kyau vs. albert mix and remebered why I love this music so much. Has anyone else went through something similar to this? Well it feels good to be back.
Very much what happened to me some months ago. I got really tired with trance since i thought it all sounded alike in the end. So i started exploring progressive and other forms of music. Now i'm slowly returning back to trance but in the same time i have a larger sense of music. Combining all these different types of music makes EDM worth listening.
It never really gets old, so no, I haven't. I listen to a variety of music though, not just trance.
i listened to it for years then just drifted out of it. didnt do it for me anymore. i made it a point of mine to explore every genre of EDM i could. found so much diversity and found myself liking almost all of the genres. except trance. just doesnt do it for me anymore.
For some strange reason, I go with the seasons. In summertime, I like conventional or "cliche" trance with warm leads and such. When fall comes, I prefer harder, older trance. During winter and early spring, I prefer the colder, more neutral-sounding house tracks. Then as it starts to get warm again, I go full circle and go back to trance.
I took a break from Trance awhile back. After listening to some of my old cd's, I learned to appreciate Trance more.

The only thing that gets me goin like trance is some good UK Hardcore.
Live, I love good trance. although I like those drrty ass breaks and some tribal. Fuck it, live everything sounds great.
i started listening about middle of 02, and i started exploring other genres rather quickly, and now trance bores the bejesus outta me. that 4x4, man... its just.. ugh
i still love listening to trance but i dunno i just have more of a passion for hip-hop, funk, and house... not that i don't mind a good trance set every once in a while but the music doesn't excite me as much as it used to

whoa, 5 years, dis guy must be some kind of veteran.
I like trance till 2001. Right now house and prog are rockin my boat.
My enjoyment for trance comes and goes pretty randomly, I've probably been listening for about 5 years too, I guess it started right before Out There and Back came out.
I dont think it is a proven fact that everybody grows bored of trance after a few years. There is a bunch of diverse and obscure stuff that keeps me entertained that isn't too far away from being trance that I usualy pull out when I get bored.
I find that I enjoy teh trance for alot of the same reasons people say they dont like it, that 4/4 is great fun, the repetetiveness of it, its good stuff I think, but most kids say it bores them. I dunno, its a very interesting situation to think about. That being said, I always try and maintain a diverse collection of stuff to keep things interesting, trance songs still dominate my collection though, but alot of the realy predictable stuff I don't really listen to any more. Not so much because it is bad, I'm sure if I didn't hear similar tunes in like 2000/2001 I would find them very entertaining.
I think it is a matter of priorities that makes kids decide they dont like it. I don't care so much about drums and bass roaring, so the fact that all the trance tunes have the same beat and bassline doesn't really bother me, but I go to other genres and get bored because they dont have synthplay that is interesting to me.
I find now that the trance scene is really filling up with alot of fake phony lame people, it is kinda bothering me. Alot of really little kids getting way too obnoxiously fucked up, not many of them seem to really care about the music and just come because they think it makes them look cool, at least that is what looks like is happening here. Anyway, its all about who you surrund yourself with, I a havig trouble finding good trance kids, I only know enough to fill up a small house party, so I find that I only enjoy trance when those little parties come around, at least these days.

Got into trance back in 98, shifted briefly to hardhouse in 2000, then back to trance, and this past year has seen me branch out into breaks and house, makes me appreciate my favourite that much more
i like trance since 98 and sometimes i get tired of it that's why i listen to all kind of music such as rap hip hop ,salsa merengue so i never stop to listen to it cuz trance is my ultimate favorite genre of music
Ive been into trance since 96 but only got into it as a main listening genre in 99-2001 then it died, 2002 got out of trance, never listened much, 2003 got back into it ......
I listen to loads of different styles, so I don't concentrate on trance enough to get bored of it.
