Tito Trinidad to Retire!
To all of you boxing fans here is the news, the famous Puerto Rican is going to retire. His lost to Winky Wright made him retire, he failed to beat him he got the biggest ass kciked ever, well he got schooled. With this lost Tito failed to go after the rematch with Hopkins. Mayorga should had finished him off, but anyways in my opinion that is the best thing to do because after you retired the 1st time you dont like boxing anymore you dont have the heart. Tito is definetly no 160lbs p4p fighter.
Wow big suprise Tito retires again.....
As much as I hated Tito in his prime its a shame he's retiring again, this time because his father no longer has the will to work in his corner. Tito should have fired his dad after the Oscar fight. He clearly had no stratagy for Winky....did anybody else catch his informative between round talk of "get off more punches", "hurt him" ect.... I think with a half decent trainer Tito could have seen his career take off again.
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico -- Felix Trinidad Jr. all but announced his retirement from boxing on Sunday, the second time the former champion has called it quits if he follows through.
After his father, Felix Trinidad Sr., went into detail about how he did not feel up to par training in the corner with his son, the younger Trinidad said he did not want to continue fighting without his mentor.
"If you aren't here, I'm not continuing in boxing," Trinidad said before embracing his father and crying.
"I feel that I am not at 100 percent, I'm not able to give the way that I used to," Trinidad Sr. said. "� Based on that, I feel as though I do not want to continue."
Saturday, Winky Wright kept his promise on a forecasted victory against Trinidad in the middleweight division, earning a unanimous decision.
Trinidad (42-2), who had come out of a 29-month retirement last October to knock out Ricardo Mayorga in impressive fashion, accepted Wright's challenge when he could not land a rematch with Bernard Hopkins. Hopkins had knocked Trinidad out in a 2001 unification fight.
There is a rematch clause in the contract with Wright but after such a one-sided fight, it's hard to see it as economically viable, especially after Trinidad earned $10 million and Wright $4 million.
Wright, however, seemed open to it Saturday night.
"I would love a rematch," Wright said. "I think he will be better prepared next time and I don't think he will underestimate me."
I wish Trinidad comes back and fights De lahoya one more time. Dont ask why I want this but I think it would be sick. Also a rematch between him and Winky would be bad.

if you would have been him that would have affected you psychologically, then again because of Mayorgas irresponsibility as a boxer he failed to get prepare well. BUT in my opinion MAYORGA CAN BEAT TITO.

If Mayorga hadnt done that then the fight wouldnt have had gone to 12th rounds and we would have seen a hell of a fight, well it was but Mayorga messed up with his stupidity. Also come on Tito trained like 6months for the Mayorga fight, while mayorga only trained like for a month because he was having legal problems in Nicaragua about raping a prostitute if you would have been him that would have affected you psychologically, then again because of Mayorgas irresponsibility as a boxer he failed to get prepare well. BUT in my opinion MAYORGA CAN BEAT TITO. |

i gave that fight to MAyorga, Spinks did not do anything to take the belt out of Mayorga, remember Mayorga always goes as the underground fighter. YES Mayorga can beat him, Mayorga can take more punches than Tito he punches as hard as him maybe even stronger, but did Tito put his chin to Wright? NO you have to give Mayorga credit because he had the balls 2 do that.

waiting patiently for Roy Jones Jr. and Bernard Hopkins to finally fight....Hopkins has wanted that fight forever and Jones says he won't do it for any less than 60-40 on the money cut
hopkins-taylor should be a good fight
yea, Hopkins Taylor looks good.... Im hard pressed to try and pick a winner although id really love to see B-Hop keep winning..... bah we need a boxing thread.......is anybody else crying kuz John Ruiz is champ again!? worst champion EVER
