A Party I'm Trying to Throw for GTA Tranceaddicts

Whats up!

For those of you in the greater Toronto area, I'm considering throwing a party in Mississauga. I know thats probably discouraging but please read on

OK I was just thinking of it this morning but this is how its going through my head. I can possibly get a venue on a saturday night (or friday but there will be alot more people there). The venue will probably not cost me anything, but I won't be making money off of it either (thats no problem to me, I'm not in it for money I just want to cover costs and have the party).

For those of you wondering, the venue would be Flight 2000, its located just behind club 107/108. This is the website for Flight 2000

Now the way I figure it, I can proabaly work it out so that I get the money from the door, while the club makes money from the bar. The cover would be 10 dollars if you under 19, and 5 if your over 19.

So if I can bring in 50 TA's who are legal age, I can make 250. It probably wouldn't just be TA's, I can get 10000 flyers made for 300 bucks, so I would distribute around the area but the flyer would clearly state the reason of the party (and the dominant prescence of TA's).

As for the venue, its in Mississauga like I said, its night club hours not rave hours, so it would probably run from the doors opening @ 9 to the doors closing at 3 or 4. The venue isn't large and their saturday night is folding right now thats why I think they wouldn't mind the party. As long as I can promise people then it can most likely happen.

Assuming all this goes well, and some TA's will actually show up, the biggest issue arises: DJ's.

Flight is a decent club, in fact its the only club I will go to once in a while as they play decent music and the crowd is good

As for music/DJ's:

I'm not going to be a prick and say "It's my party and I'll spin if I want to." I know there are alot more DJ's then me here, and most of them are probably better too. It would be nice if maybe we could get Fuzion, and some others to come and spin and for those of you who are interested I'm telling you straight up, most likely I can't afford to pay you. Another idea I was toying with was bringing a laptop and recording the sets, maybe putting them up for download, that would be kinda cool. One of the residents there would most likely spin for a bit, hes a good friend of mine and he plays a variety of music, stuff like Rapture or Joyenergizer (both vinyl and CD). And for the vinyl DJ's, the decks there are Numark so if anyone specifically wants Technics I will have to probably bring mine, which isn't really a problem. I can get very good hard house, jungle, or house DJ's, it just depends on wheather I want a variety or pure trance.

This is just ideas running through my head, if anyone is interested, just reply and let me know of any thoughts or comments, or if anyone would even come. I don't want to put the effort if its not going to happen.

I think you have a fantastic idea over there.

Promoting a party based on a positive vibe and GOOD music is VERY appealing. I'd love to see it promoted as a purely trance music gig though...I'd give you my five bucks right now. And if that's the case, I'd be happy to lend a hand in promoting or whatever else needs to get done. I'd spread the word regardless over here in Thornhill...although I think there might be only three other guys up here who dig trance.

Anyway, I think you should follow through with your idea, maybe find out some more of the details and share them along the way.

This could turn out to be PHENOMENAL.

Im in for an all Trance night as I dont think there is enough venues out there that will play pure trance all night, I'd be cool to see if we could get an all night venue as well, just because Guv, System, or any other all night club is a little out of the way once you've started partying if you know what i mean. But you got my vote. My friends and i will be there regardless, for some good trance, and good times.
Oh ya im not a dj but it would be cool to see all the TA talent come out.

GREAT IDEA ROB NOLI,I've been to Flight 2000 about half a year ago, well the wibe was there for about 2 month and then fucked up ppl started visiting the place and it became sucks. How is it now i dunno, but the place for the party is good overall. We need something goin on Saturday night. Flight 2000 is far from downtown, so i there will be no punks like in Area 51 on Saturdays. IDEA IS AWESOME, lets do it. In regardless of music, well, Uplifting and Progressive (in Tiesto, AVB, and PVD styles) would be apreciated. Try not to mix it with jungle and house.

I think of an idea to play some LIVE SETS lets say in the middle of the night started at 12:00. It would be awesome just to dance and listen to the Ferry or tiesto @Innercity or Trance Energy right in the club. I dunno if this gonna violate the copyrights, but i would be coming there every night if u guys would do that.
we would create our own Innercity, with the real music from there. I think the copyrights shouldn't be a problem damn it, every single person has those sets. But i know the LAW IS THE LAW.

Ok, so lets SUPPORT the idea everybody and we will get what we are looking for.

PS. If flight would get some cute LAZERS would be good.

Yo, I got a crapload of friends who are regs at FLIGHT 2000. God, whenever I talk to them, they're always talking about "that night" at Flight. From what I hear, the club is mostly eastern-european centric, but I haven't been, so I don't know if it's true. Also, from what I hear, the club is infact going downhill. But trust me, if you go along with this, I'll come, and get like half the Polaks in my school to go, thats 20 people right there. Plus some of their friends...you'll make cash. Also, from what I hear, Flight is trashy eurobeats club, but I am probably wrong after reading your post there, about Joyenergizer and Rapture, if it is more trancey, then I'll be there for sure. Go along with the idea man, oh, and get some good security

I will only interact with the poles......if they bring some bubka.....that's the only way...

I think this a goddamn good idea cause getting downtown from mississagua can be a bitch if everyone wants to get fucked up. I've never been to flight but I heard it's full of fresh of the boat polaks who just drink and beat the shit out of each other. And also it's a bit too gino for me, and it better be no dresscode so I can wear my converse.

I normally party in TO in clubs or venues in the downtown area and have even bothered to party anywhere else .. unless it was a rave with a unkown venue until the day of. (afew years ago)

If I can get a ride from Scarb. I would come and party that night with all you TA headz.

Wow thanks everyone for the positive feedback I received...my internet is usually down for half the month (I get 10 free hours from netzero) so its been a while since I checked this!

From the sounds of it everyone wants a pure trance party, no worries there. If I can get the people and the DJ's it can probly happen.

For those of you who GO to flight, its been rammed the past couple weeks according to my friend who goes every friday...I don't normally go to "gino" clubs but its got a good vibe and hot chicks And you can usually hear my buddy Robbie C sneak in some good tracks like Joyenergizer or somethin

I was thinking of playing a deeper (ie Digweed) progressive set but it looks like I have to increase my uplifting trance collection now!

ya, drunkpolak, flight USED to be good about a year ago, when i went there in feb. 2000, crowd was good, every1 polish...now, da club sucks, 2 my wiggers wannabe go there, and 90% of da gurls r blonde there hehehe

I thought about this...the problem is that I might not get enough people in to make my costs back.

Most likely I'm going to throw a few parties, one with me and my personal friends, that would be with house and jungle, etc.

But the other one would be pure trance. One idea I thought of is having a certain area that ONLY TA's can get into.

Any thoughts?

no need to make it a TA only party, it just needs to be promoted to the right people. flight only has a good reputation for friday night all-ages, so if the party is on a saturday the only drunken polacks there would be close friends of mine who love trance just as much as the rest of us. plus they are our connection to getting the venue, so i think we should all cut back on the "drunken pollack" comments.

But, um, ya back to the party.

The venue of flight 2000 is not looking to hot right now, it most likely will end up being a different place that I will work out. On the bright side, I'm working on getting some top notch dj's, and I will be relying heavily on you guys to help me promote.
