Where the word "****" came from...
One of my good buddies told me an interesting tail of where the word fuck originated, and I thought someone else might get a kick out of it too. Seems that some king back in the middle ages (In England) (I don't remember which king it was but my friend does) made a law where his greatest knights would have first dibbs on all the most beautiful maidens, the point was to create a country of strong and domanant people. The women they'd pick they'd write the word F.U.C.K. above their doors. The word stood for Fornication Under the Comand of the King.

also equally incorrect is the similar use of the acronym of 'for unlawful carnal knowledge' or something of the sort

Robert Claiborne, in The Roots of English: A Reader's Handbook of Word Origin (Times, 1989) agrees that this is "probably" the etymon. Problems with such theories include a distribution that suggests a North-Sea Germanic areal form rather than an inherited one; the murkiness of the phonetic relations; and the fact that no alleged cognate outside Germanic has sexual connotations. |

Interesting.
The word vagina comes from the Latin word......vagina (pronounced wageena) which means sheath of a sword.

funny...my world history teacher said it had started during WW1...something about fornication and muck. basically a word to really make it sex dirty?
