Automation in Fruity?

I constantly see things like automation in the playlist in fruity example tracks but in the sequencer it shows nothing for the channel what is the automation and how do i use it ?

it shows a whole bar running thruout the track but whats it for ?

isnt the automation in fruity 5 so you can make certain effects for a certain part of the mix. Such as attaching a cut off filter to the automation of say your main lead...stretching the automation out in the playlist on the bottom area and then editing to see how you want your filter to work...bringing the synth into play?

i dont know if i am right

well, the automation works like any automation in any sequencer.
In the tutorials, there is the "how does it works"

automation is basically for when you want a knob value to change during the course of the song

There are two ways of doing automation in the new version of FL. First, like somebody said, you can click record button and then turn the knobs. The change in envelopes for this knob will be recorded. To view these changes, right click on the knob and select edit (or something similar to that, i forget). You will be shown the envelope where you can manually draw on it. This is the old way which I hate.

In the new version there is a new feature called Automation Clips. You can place these Clips (tracks) in your Play List (at the bottom). Then you can assign any parameter to this Clip that you want to automate. The Automation Clip has automation envelope ontop of it just like in albeton live, logic, or cubase. It is much easier to do it this way and you see what is happening in the song.

To get more info about this, find Automation Clips in the manual.
