I Just Got Fired
It's one of the worst feelings in the world.
I don't know if it was something I did, but the people I worked for (doing some contracting work) said they weren't making any money, thus they couldn't really afford to pay me for any future work since things are slow, so they let me go. I was there for a few days w/ no training (we went directly to work) and it's almost like they expected me to do everything. Eh, I tried as hard as I could but I guess in the end it wasn't for me. I feel even worse because it's almost like I let my friend who got me the job, down.
Good end to the story is as soon as I got fired someone else asked me to work for them so I start this evening. Working for the same company, but doing something else. So at least I have another job, kinda.
Sorry, but I don't have a gf right now so I needed someone to bitch about this to.
Anyone else ever been fired?
Rodas
when i worked at this nice steak house as a server, i didn't really get fired, but i could tell they wanted to get rid of me, so they kept messing with me until i quit. it was really shitty because i was a really good worker. i have a good work ethic...i was always on time for my shifts, i never called in like all the other loser servers. i got along with everyone... i think i called in sick like 2 times in my 9 months of working there, and both times i was legitimately sick.
anyway, i realized that there are A LOT of politics in the restaurant business and after i "quit" (they pretty much made me feel like i was a shitty server and like i was going to get fired, so i said fuck it and i left), i continued friendships with several of the servers and i found out so much shit that i was oblivious to. i guess a group of servers (the same ones who wouldn't show up for shifts all the time, and never got fired) did coke and smoked weed w/ the managers...just stuff like that.
then i realized why they (managers) didn't like me. cuz i wasn't their "buddy" and i was just there to work and not make friends and i never hooked them up with drugs. pretty pathetic.
the funny part is i know a lot of people at that restaurant thought i was like this little straight laced chick just because i didn't really party with any of them or show up to work all blasted or yayed up.
HA!
but yea, even though they didn't technically "fire" me, i still felt like i had been fired and i was really pissed about it for a while.
just brush it off. if you know inside that you were a good worker, etc., then don't let it get to you.
see like if i ever got fired from this job, i'd just be like oh well, cuz i'm on this damn website all day hahaha...but yea, the restaurant thing pissed me off cuz i actually worked my ass off.
that sucks man, looks like they used you and fired you to avoid paying for the job you did. Sue the dicks
Well I still got paid for thge work I did.. What I meant is that they said there not making enough money to have me working + them make much money as well.

i remember my job told me at christmas that they were going to have to let me go at the end of the year. i was pissed but i showed up for the rest of the year anyways. well it turned out that they screwed up the budget and had extra money to keep me. so ive been working here since then and studying to take some exams so i can get out of here. if you look at my post count you can find out what i do at work.

| Originally posted by UWM Obviously not ![]() I used to work for a restaurant / lounge and the owner was this Napoleon-complex Iranian jerk who thought he was hot shit because he owned a restaurant. I was a really good worker there and never fucked around while I was there (well, usually not) and he took a particular dislike to me because the women who worked there liked me more than they liked him. This one blonde in particular who he fancied took quite a liking to me and we started hanging out outside of work, kind of seeing each other, and he found out and got really jealous so he stopped scheduling me and started treating me like shit until one day I found out through somebody else that I was fired. |

Plus, he was like 5'7" and he looked like a troll.
I did get the last laugh, kind of. On my 22nd birthday, like 2 weeks before I got fired, he was gone and we threw a party afterhours and one of the bartenders was letting me do shots of Johnny Walker Blue Label, which sold for something like $27 a piece.

the manager at that restaurant i worked at was a total phony ass bitch! my god, did she gives female managers a bad name. she had that typical, "i'm better than everyone" attitude and she was a total gold digging hater. some chicks would walk in the restaurant w/ those LV bags and she'd be like, "oh my god, that LV bag is fake, i can tell". and i would look at them and think, "not really"...lol
she is married to another GM from this other restaurant who apparently inherited like almost a million dollars, so she always acted like she was this rich bitch, and she was above everyone. it was so obnoxious. she drove around her stupid little $299 a month lexus IS300 (the cheapest one) and she acted like it was a goddamn bentley. hahaha
she was just a total bitch and she was only nice to the chicks who would kiss her ass and compliment her...i never did, i was really cut and dry with her.
then there was the flaming fag cokehead assistant manager who was getting high with all the closet fag servers (what i found out after i quit).
hahaha damn freak show!
there was SOOO much drama in that restaurant, i swear it was crazy. this chick i became very close friends with (we dont talk any more) actually screwed that bitchy manager's husband! i remember we were coked up in south beach and she kind of let it slip out and i was like, "OH MY GOD are u kidding me?? u slept with laura's husband?? WHEN? WHERE?"
apparently he had a thing for my friend and my friend was a bartender at his restaurant and they would screw like all the time. hahahah i SOOO wish that bitch would find out, i seriously hate her.
i remember one time this brand new red 350 modena pulled up to our restaurant and of course we were all like, "damn that is a nice car"
of course the manager was all like, "those are so overrated, i don't even like them"
HATER!

i'd be fired too if it wasn's for the fact that everyone in this office slacks in one way or another, including my boss.
this office is a joke. lol but i can't complain i have it made. i sure as hell wouldn't want to do this for a living though, it sucks!

I've been 'released' before. Definitely not a good feeling to have. Seems like a shot in the face to point out ones inadequacies to perform certain functions. But hey, at least you have a job still.
