Love Parade SF 2005 - new details...

According to the offical LP SF website, the parade route has been changed, it now begins at Market at 2nd (Thankfully near Del Taco, where I will fuel up on carbs), end ends at the "festival grounds" at Civic Center Plaza (party up with bumbs woohoo!)....and there will be an official "afterparty" at the Bill Graham Civic for up to 8000 people, with BIG headliners.

The entire weekend (Friday through Sunday) is being billed as Love Week (just as in Berlin) featuring other events. Some events are planned to start as early as wednesday, and will be coordinated with various clubs/venues throughout the city. Apparently more details of the afterparty will be released in the upcoming weeks...

Seems like there would be more noise issues with this route for the floats but oh well.....can't wait to hear more about this!!

The details of the afterparty are being kept suppppeeerrr secret by the organizers. It's odd. Must be some big things happening...that's the hints I'm receiving. Now if I just had any clue who.

you know I'm praying for something similar to Love from Above with some international flair...but I am sure it will have something more of a San Francisco twist. I can go to a skills-type event anytime if I wanted

Wow even better. I was guessing they were gonna do the festival by Pier 48 again, but this new festival grounds is even better. And an afterparty at the Billy Graham? Wow. I really hope Spundae's playing a major part for that.

I got contacted by the organizers. They're going to use some of the pictures I took on their media kit & flyers! Woohooo!!!!!

Spotted this flier on skills for the after party. Tickets on sale August 6th at $25 and end up at $60 at the door.
So if you're thinking of going, better get them soon when they're on sale. Also, someone posted a rumor on the Love Parade board that Oakenfold is playing.
I hope that's not true *yawn*.

Spundae and Skills...

I wonder how long the set times will be

Posted by DaveT on Jun-29-2005 07:07:

I seriously doubt there will even be tickets available at the door. Will probably be sold out.

Eh, it's a massive. So probably multiple headliners to be involved. I'm usually the first one to bitch about it...but it is a massive. In Europe, most DJs get 60-75 minutes per set....in LA, most get 90-120 minutes. So I'd expect anywhere in that range (60-120 mintues) per headliner.

Things are being kept pretty damn quiet about what's going on with it thus far.
