While top Israeli and Palestinian officials discussed security at a Middle East forum Saturday, an American senator advised Arab leaders to focus on injustices in their own countries and reminded them that U.S. policy is security for Israel first and justice for Palestinians "if possible."

On the sidelines of a World Economic Forum conference on the Middle East, Israeli Vice Premier Shimon Peres and Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qureia discussed the recent flare-up of violence threatening their fragile truce as well as Israel's planned withdrawal from the Gaza Strip.

"There's an attempt to get the peace process back on track in a bid to make the withdrawal from Gaza, if it happens, a serious, real (and) practical step," Qureia told reporters as he headed into the meeting with Peres at a Dead Sea resort in Jordan.

He has got a point tho they really need to, but so does the US! Everyone should mind their own business, the world would be awesome

even if hitler killed 6/7 of his own population, he wouldnt have killed as many as died in WWII! and then add to that that hitler probably wouldnt have lasted that long anyway if someone never attacked them.

all that said, WWII was a very special thing, and i do think it was right for them to get involved, but that is a very extreame example!

Actually Hitler declared war on the U.S. on December 11, 1941 in a Reichstag speech.

so very very UNTRUE. nazi germany would have lasted well into what would have been the cold war had WW2 not occured. i certainly see nazi germany as an ally of the west against the soviets. the germans never had a problem with the brits & yanks

I dont think the cold war would have been the same without WWII tho, probably been another cold war entirly... and yeah it might have taken a while, but still, the nazis would have been overthrown eventually!

and i cant believe im argueing this, cause we pretty much agree with each other

nah, this thread (and my point) are about non-interventionist policies. i was saying that if hitler hadnt gone for poland he couldve done anything within the reich and the world wouldnt have done anything about it.
