all i have to say is "Blank & Jones - Perfect Silence [E-Craig 212 Vocal Mix]" -> THAT WAS THE BEST EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't get to go to the meetup before hand, but i know i'm sure i saw some of the TAs around. i was the guy in the blue shirt that said, "Department of Redundancy Department" in case anyone saw me.

i had a blast. that was just an awesome time. unfortunately i left at 4am [friends wanted to go...] but other than that it was great. I'd almost say better than last year [Jimmie Page i thought was good too , better than Mazi]. but yeah, just a great fuckin' time.

Posted by Spliph on May-22-2005 17:10:

yeah, wait.. i just woke up... got home @ 745..... shit... have work in 3 hours... status of feet= danced away.

Shit, is all i have to say.... got there around 12.... HUGE line! we get our car valet, walk to the front door and get right in! no $$$ we had to pay...oh..GREEAT SET! i sure hope someone has some pieces of the tracklist.... a few i remember right now:

m.i.k.e. - massive motion
blank & jones - perfect silence
that new Rank1 tune.... around 4 o clock.... shit..so many tracks i can't think of....

afterwards, talked to him @ the booth for a little in dutch.. he asked me how long i've stayed in CHI town and with that said he told me I am losing my Dutch

DEFINITELY great, altho it seemed you had to get presales...a few of my friends couldn't make it upstairs....:-\

armin last night

F'in killed it is an understatement....what a set!!!! So in with the crowd unlike some, total energy while dropping his tracks, which of course sent me thru the roof. A few more tunes I remember, which i desperately wanted him to play:

Motorcycle- Around You.
Gabriel and Dresden- Arcadia.
Knew alot of songs, gotta go thru my texts today and sort some out. I'll post as I get more.

But yes, PERFECT SILENCE was THE TUNE last night. Sounded amazing, and everyone was feeling it. Definitely gotta get a hold of the last three before his last song, unbelievable!!! Good thing to is that it was packed, but not packed enough on the floor where you were totally rubbed up against everyone around you. I would have expected it to be much more packed in. Tiesto who???? Great set ARMIN ARMIN ARMIN ARMIN.......

Posted by chiprognut on May-22-2005 17:32:

armin last night

Another huge tune last night he dropped.....

Rachael Starr - Till There Was You (Gabriel & Dresden 12 Step Program)

OMFG OMFG OMFG!!!!!!

/me holds head in shame and eating her words

after saying that you would have to pay me to go see mr. van buuren, i ended up at vision around 2 am - went to a techno party at tini martini - was bored so decided to head over to vision. got there around 1:30 or so and there was a very short line outside, but they weren't letting anyone inside - it was at total capacity and my friend said that even presales were not being allowed in (i guess presale only guarantees admission until midnight - but they extended that deadline until 1 and still some presales didn't get in from what i heard). i was about to leave, but luckily, i was finally able to sneak in around 2 or so - and man, was it packed - all three floors were packed until the end. i remember the good old days when armin would come and vision would be full, but i was always able to get "my spot" by the dj booth without having to push and shove.

armin's fans were lovin' it - i have to hand it to him - he definitely knows how to get the crowd going - i loved seeing the entire club go off on some tracks - i haven't really listened to ASOT so i can't id many of the tracks, but i do remember mike - massive motion and marcos - tribal affair and of course, shivers and his sensation white anthemn 2005 were spun - anyone know the track after tribal affair - pretty cool track - i wonder if it was an armin production from his new artist album?

went down on the dance floor for a bit and i have to admit that the music sounded really good on the floor. but, i also realized that i was sitting a lot during the set - maybe danced 3 or 4 tracks - just not my style anymore. but from a musical standpoint, it was a good set IMHO.

the best part of the night was at the end when i finally caught up with some of the ta's - lucid, g&d girl, everything, etc. nice seeing you guys/gals again haven't seen you peeps in AGES - just seeing ya'll made it worth the hassle of getting in and fighting the crowds.

ended up eating some crappy mcdonald's breakfast and headed over to an afters where everyone said that they tried to get into vision, but couldn't. so - word to the wise - next time armin comes into town - BUY PRESALES AND GET THERE EARLY!!!!!!!!!!

oh yeah - found out from lucid that he spun max graham - gone and i missed it that was one song that i would have loved to have heard in a club - maybe next week when i see markus in detroit or when max comes to town.

Posted by Chicago29 on May-22-2005 18:11:

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! What an amazing time. He played Avea Mea - In the End to start off then the 3rd song was Max Graham - I know You're Gone. There were so many amazing build ups/break downs. I think my favorite was Sophie Sugar - Call of Tomorrow (John O'Callaghan remix)--the place went wild. So fun! Thanks everyone, and THANK YOU ARMIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Til next time

Posted by ctprincess on May-22-2005 18:21:

ps - all of the peeps at afters supposedly knew me, but i had no idea who they were - so it was just another regular night for me

pps - armin is still cute - must be what keeps me coming back

ppps - this was armin's last show at vision - don't worry i'm sure he'll be back to chicago, but gk will no longer be at vision after july 2

Posted by Vyper0987 on May-22-2005 20:44:

AWESOME FUCKING NIGHT!

He definitely fucked Vision last night.

Here's the songs that I remember:

Ava Mea - In the End
Gone (Max Graham Remix)
Clear and Present - Elevate
Andy Moor - Halcyon (fucking love this tune)
Niklas Harding - Ice Beach
Enmass - CQ
G&D - Arcadia
B&J - Perfect Silence (E-Craigs 212)
PVD - Crush
Purple Haze - Adrenaline
Marco V - More than a Life Away
Sophie Sugar - Call of Tomorrow (johnny O'Cally Remix)
Marcos - Tribal Affair
and what was mentioned before...

I think that he also played the Remy and Roland Klinkenberg remix of Eye Wall.

I was on the second level 10 feet from Armin all nite. The best part was that he was fucking have what seemed to be the time of his life. His buddy told him that they said to start wrapping it up and armin rolled his eyes and said...c'mon...just one amazing night

Posted by ctprincess on May-22-2005 21:31:

oh yeah - he also spun pvd - crush

Posted by RJT on May-22-2005 21:39:

Wow... what an unreal night... I haven't danced that hard in a LONG time, and I'm sure the TA's who I met up with can attest to my being completely soaked in sweat within an hour of arriving...

My tracks of the night: Arcadia (B/C I like my chedda, and when G&D were at Vision the sound was fucked for that tune... sounded great last night) and Max Graham - "Gone" just because I think for about half the car ride down there one of us was saying "But first... Max Graham! (I leaned over to Armin at the end of the night and tried to bust that out, I wish he'd heard me )

The place was really packed, so I spent the majority of my dance time in the room adjacent to the main one with the video monitors on, there was plenty of room to dance and it was easily 10 degrees cooler in there..

CTPrincess, D&G Girl, Everything0: It was a pleasure to meet you all, even if it was in a huge club where no one could really talk, hopefully I'll see you all out again (CTPrincess: I'll be in Detroit Saturday/Sunday/Monday next weekend for sure...)

wolverine16/Andy: Dude, I'm real sorry I didn't even remember seeing you last night, I was absolutely out of my mind for a few hours there, just SUPER faded and really jammin' out...

To the random VIP Club Girl I've danced with/seen at Vision the last 5 times I went down, thanks for introducing me to Molly I felt like a rock star for a little while there...

And finally, most importantly, Lucid, thank you so much for EVERYTHING! I had an absolute blast chilling with you before the show, I thought Devin was one of the most class dudes I've ever met, and you have to thank him again for letting us drive the Acura down... and I can't thank you enough for driving, you are easily the best femals driver I have ever seen in my life! I really look forward to getting the chance to party with you again, sounds like that will probly be Ferry huh ?

And finally, my favorite piece of club dialog for the night:

A: So I'll see you for Tiesto then? I can definitely sneak you in for free, no problems....

M: Ummm... yeah... I don't think I'll be able to make it to Tiesto...

(Maybe it doesn't come off as well online, but it was the funniest thing I'd heard all night when it happened!)

Ahhh... so much for to say, but after 4 hours of sleep and a 3 hour drive from Mil town to point today, I need some serious rest...

Peace, Cheers,

RJT

i think my favorite was the russian guy upstairs... "tiesto sucks, dude. right? doesn't tiesto suck?" ... lol, either that or the MANY MANY times we said "but first... Max Grahhhham"

man i am still in such an afterglow from last night. the night went by soooo fast! usually i look at my watch and it ends up being around 2am and i'm thinking "alright now, this set needs to pick up or i need to go"... but last night i was down on the floor (which was amazing, the sound, the crowd!) for a good 2 hours and when i looked at my watch and it was 4:30 i was like "holy shit! gotta get back upstairs and find the TAs!"

my favorite tracks from the night -

PVD - Crush
Andy Moor - Halcyon
Max Graham ft Jessica Jacobs - Gone
Mike Foyle vs Signalrunners - Love Theme Dusk
G&D - Arcadia
Purple Haze - Adrenaline (the one tune i was dyin to hear ALL night... i dragged Kael to the dancefloor when i heard armin mix it in)
Motorcycle - Around You
Rachel Starr - Till There Was You
and of course, Serenity, although i wish i had been on the floor for that one

and ummm the oddest part of the night was the guy with the safety goggles on.

Rob - i can't wait to party with you again!! i had such a great time driving down with you... makes the drive soo much easier, and way more fun too! you're an awesome dude. it's on for Ferry!

gah my feet are so sore and numb from dancing all night. time to kick back on the couch and relax!

Posted by UWM on May-22-2005 23:12:

Ended up going down to Chicago yesterday after planning on not going, and partied for most of the day and, as expected, my friends held true to their word on bitching out. I actually took a cab by myself downtown, but since once I saw the line and realized that without presales there was no chance in hell of getting in I went back to meet my friends in Lincoln Park and had to miss it. Glad to hear you all had fun though

I saw that kid w/ the goggles too - that was a bit surprising. heh.

i've totally relaxed all day today as well [and took a nap as well, since only getting around 4 hours of sleep during the night]. my feet are still sore [i was on the floor from around 1130 until about 4 straight]. i know what you mean about the time too - it flew by.

i also noticed the floor wasn't "packed" [to the point where if you left you couldn't get back in], but had a decent amount of people in it. i liked having a little bit of space to actually dance, not just kind of shuffle between people. so that was nice.

the set was really awesome. i'm glad to hear everyone else had a great time too.

and i've still got that wonderful wonderful ringing in my ears!

same here - very nice to meet ya (I'll remember you b/c i was sober the entire night) and i'll send you a pm later this week with the 411 on detroit - i'm there saturday - tuesday - not sure exactly which shows i'm going to - my friends that i'm going with are techno whores, so we'll see if i make it to markus - i really want to see him (finally!), but its all up in the air ATM.

Hey all -

I had a great time myself at Armin! I was unfortunately stuck on the crappy side of Vision until about 1:30-2am when I was finally able to schmooze my way in!

Had a great time dancing after that! I brought several of my female friends and they had a blast too! So I'm hoping maybe to meet some of you people at Tiesto or Ferry? Let me know what cracking!

Hope you are all recovering well! (I didn't get to where i was staying until 7am, and I had a 9 am call time! EEK! I was wiped all day!)

yeah it wasn't too bad. there were some sketchy dudes out there but luckily Kael did a great job of protecting me.

i mean seriously, what guy thinks that a good way to introduce himself to a girl would be to start massaging her ass. come on now.

Yeah, those Russian dudes were great! I was dancing and talking with those guys for a while in the other room, and despite some of their tastes in music, they had some pretty cool things to say... but that moment up by the bathroom is definitely permanently imprinted on my brain... but first... Max Grahhhham...

...I've said it before and I'll say it again, I can not wait to party with you again Lucid, minus the random stranger ass massages on the dance floor

did i say GREAT anywhere in my review?

i've always thought armin was a good dj - and his showmanship is probably the best out there and his construction of sets is always good - just didn't get me dancing last night b/c i just don't like most of the tracks that he spun, so IMO his set was BORING, but his fans loved it. i admit - the last 20 minutes of his set was fantastic - i think he spun some original/new tracks which didn't sound like the rest of his set.

yeah but Rob's an easy slut. i'm a classy broad. i mean at least go for the boobs first, then the ass.

hahaha Rob i just remembered another great conversation as i was driving to work this morning listening to ASOT 195...

"Armin's sets are like sex. Like, amazing sex. He works you up and teases you and pleases you over and over. Then when he's done you're still screaming for an encore."
