Hello,

I must say you're really trying to create an atmosphere here. But it just sounds too "robotic" in a way. Try to play more with the panning and the gate effect. Dunno if you often listen to M.I.K.E.? Well, it's more the effects that he uses that can make such a track have a thumping feel and sound really creepy. Especially the reverb is lacking here. Maybe some more melodic layers would be nice in this one too.

Know what you mean..

Took the inspiration from Richie Hawtin really. Love his stuff.

Did it all in 1 program too, Fruity loops, and Live.

I'm diggin' it!

Hey. I'm not going to post a full review of the track but its got some serious potential. If you would like to collab on it or if you want some real-time pointers on it, I'd love to help. ([email protected])

Cheers,
Zac

Feel free to have a play with the track, do a remix etc, would love to hear different takes on it.

Hey. Cool, any chance I can get the project file or atleast a MIDI? I use FL Studio 5 and it would be best if you could get me an FLP but a MIDI file would be more than substantial . I really want to work on this song though . I have MSN Messenger that I mainly use but also have AIM (LDarkLSwordL) and YIM (iDarkiSwordi) so you can drop me a line at one of those and we can discuss it .

Cheers,
Zac

Yes, I'm definitely hearing the Richie Hawtin influences.

Not a very high energy track, but I don't think it needs to be. It serves its purpose in being very trippy. I like it.

This is really your first track? That's amazing! The first thing I made sounded like absolute shit. It wouldn't fit into any genre know to man. This is actually quite nice! I can tell, you're gonna get really good at this buddy!

Posted by Axolotyl on May-25-2005 04:11:

Yeah, what he said

Nice minimalist track. Good synth programming too!

not bad,as someone here said you have lot of potential

Posted by mr2gti on May-25-2005 16:11:

Crikkey, this response has shocked me, I thought it was quite lame.

Listening back to it over and over, the more I hate it.

I'll post the FL link thing and anyone with FL can have a play with it.

Sure this is a first? ;D

Pretty unique imo, and that's only a good thing ;D Not my style of preference, but I listen to anything EDM. Little too thin though, you could use some compressing.

Posted by mr2gti on May-25-2005 17:37:

Yip my first, only ever used Fruity to play about with drums over tracks playing in winamp, but heard what people had done and thought about a quick play about.

I also think it's thin, but - thats my taste of music. Like alot of styles but Richie Hawtin's stuff is excellent, and's it's alot more minimal than mine.

Posted by PutBoy on May-25-2005 18:14:

even more minimal? ;D I hate it when tunes are too thin.

Posted by mr2gti on May-25-2005 18:44:

But don't confuse it with being a genre it ain't.

I love really thin tunes...

Plastikman - Ask Yourself, that's a classic.

Posted by linkmage on May-25-2005 19:51:

Minimal...do not be in this style dude...this is musical death....I thought, what is your deep live in head,if you take those notes in your brain....
very nice stuff...but minimal, need somethin, what hook you and you listen again...again...again...again....

That's good then, Like it, you don't. If everyone was the same it'd be a bloody boring planet lol.

I love that tune of his, but on the same side I like his remix of Alphawaves by System7.

Posted by PutBoy on May-25-2005 22:55:

not only would the planet be boring, bad musicians wouldn't get payed neither.

Posted by mr2gti on May-26-2005 17:17:

They are only bad to the people that don't like it, They are good to the ones who do!
