Xone 92 questions...
hey guys just a couple of quick questions in regards to the xone 92.
when used in conjunction with the pioneer efx unit (500 or 1000), does it take up a channel on the mixer?
also, i noticed the volume faders are VCA. the xone 62 xfader (which is VCA) had slight problems where there was a small lag time when trying to cut fast, thereby rendering the mixer useless to scratch on. are there the same problems with the 92 for the volume faders? i want to be able to "tease" tracks in by cutting them in and out fast. i don't want any sort of lag time when doing so a la denon digital mixers.
thanks in advance!

ohhh, I thought you were talking about those little toggle switches. My bad.

| Originally posted by mr. sound yes, everything i'm talking about has to do with the volume faders. i don't want to cut in and out with the line / phono switches. the denon has a problem with the volume faders in that there is a slight delay when opening and closing them fast thereby making it impossible to have precision "stabs" of music. |
Didn't the denon software update fix the delay problem...

Hmmm, I think the faders on the xone 92 are perfect for fader juggling so I shouldnt be worried about that... I assure you theres no latency, atleast nothing ive noticed. The only thing I'd say is that the fader volume is not proportional like say the pioneer djm 500/600 like 0-10. On the xone the faders increase by alot within the top 1/3. Thats the only wierd thing but it actually turns out to sound better for fader whipping
Hope this helps

harder to fader cut if you end up going for the rotary.
So, can anyone answer my question?
yes.
Actually the update for the Denon only fixed the lag on the crossfader, not the channel faders.
I'm afraid I don't know what the response time of the faders is like on a Xone:92 (although one thing I do know is I hate using a Xone:62 simply because of the lag!) and in response to your question about using a channel for your EFX, yes it would use a mixer channel but the 2 left hand channels (separate from the main phono/line channels) are designed to either act as microphone channels or aux returns, so it would be one of those channels you'd use, thus not interfering with other inputs (unless you need 2 microphones)
i have the rotary one and i can tell you it takes a while to cut in to the song when using them though you can adjust this if you want i assume simliar control with the slide faders.

The XONE:92 has 2 separate loops for EFX units/Samplers/whatever.... These are 2 separate from the 4(8) channels that the mixer has.

This was answered earlier... There is no Crossfader lag as the Xone62/Xone:32 had. I luv my Xone:92.
I love my xone 92r more
