Questions about Portugal

I'm going to head to Ibiza next summer for the second time and I thought about taking a week in Portugal first. I was just wondering if anyone could give me some insight on the scene there? Or maybe just point me in the right direction to look online for information.

Hey there,
well I don't know much about the scene in Porto or Algarve, but being from Lisbon and a DJ as well I'm usually aware of what's goin' on... there are 2 important sites to keep in your bookmarks during your stay here, which are www.noite.pt and www.dancefloor.pt .
I don't know when you're coming, but I just came from a party with Sasha headlining it (even met him/took a pic with him) and nick warren will be here as well as digweed, infusion, or kasey taylour.. it all depends on the week you're here.. but if it's august, lisbon usually turns to ghost town 'cos everybody heads down to the Algarve.. not that many progressive parties over there but, maybe this year will be different...

Hey thanks for the info! I'll be seeing Sasha a week from tonight in Philadelphia, USA. How was his set? I plan on coming to Lisbon either early July or late June. That should be fine right? Well thanks again!

Sasha's set was great! I mean, I'm not sure if the majority of the Portuguese crowd liked it as they are more into tribal house/electro than progressive but the room was quite packed during his set.
Sasha's set was different from what I expected, he was headlining it from 6 to 8 am and he had a tough act to follow (DJ Vibe, the most popular DJ around here, who read the crowd very well yesterday) and he opted to present a more relaxed, beat-less set than I expected, plenty of breakdowns and all... I could barely ID his tracks but he did play the new Holden/Thompson "Come to Me" as well as "The Contended Gastronome (Kosmas Epsilon Remix)". That's all I could ID really
Anyways, as for your dates... I think John Digweed and Infusion are on the 16th of July.. we'll also have the Chemical Bros and Kruder and Dorfmeister on the 9th of July. I dunno about anything on the end of June but I'll try to find it. It will be mainly Summer Festivals though. There's not that much advertising about clubbing around here, well not about progressive house parties for sure, so I'll see what I can find!
It's also always very difficult to get to talk to the big name DJs around here, take pics, get autographs, I don't know if you're that kind of guy, well I went through hell to get my sasha pic and autograph but hey it was his first time here and I had do have it right?

Glad to hear Sasha's set was good. Don't worry about looking into what is going on for this year. I'm not going until next year. I was really just trying to get an idea of what to look into. I guess booking the ibiza trip this early has gotten me going a little early I guess but I can't help it. What kind of sets does DJ Vibe play? I haven't been able to find any to download. I listened to your May Mix and I have to say it was pretty good! Catch you later.

Hehe I'd feel the same, I also want to book a trip to Ibiza as soon as I have the money
DJ Vibe plays tribal house mostly, I don't like it but he really knows what to play to the portuguese crowd that's for sure (well it also helps being who he is, as he is so famous here the crowd doesn't care what's on as long as it is Vibe on the decks..) it won't be easy to find his sets I think, I don't have any either...
Thanks for listening to my mix I actually prefer my April set, my favorite set so far, you should listen to it if you have the time hehe :P
Btw there used to be a website about all the partying in ibiza and all, with the bookings, the venues etc, but I don't seem to have it in my bookmarks anymore

Ti�sto is returning to Portugal... I think I mentioned it before, but I'm not sure. For what it's worth.
