[Dark Psy] Cybernetika - Black Hole (192kbps, full)

Heya,
"long time" ago since I have posted my last release here. I am working on two collabs and my first album (which will feature some dark, trippy and driving epic goa tracks). The album will hopefully be released on Xenocreator's upcoming label.
However, this time I felt some motivation to create a Dark Psy tune. It is called "Black Hole" and like its name suggests, it is an atmospheric deep space psy tune with focus on the ambience. I starts of mellow and with various tribal perc elements until it releases its full power in an kinda epic climax. I made this one with Fruity Loops Studio 5, ReFX Vanguard, KarmaKiller (a free VST synth), Linplug Albino and last but not least Spectrasonics Atmosphere which provided the pads and ambience. Samples used are from "2001".

So, here's the link to the file (9:18, 192kbps, ~13MB):

Download Cybernetika - Black Hole

Hope you like it, comments as always wanted and appreciated

Re: [Dark Psy] Cybernetika - Black Hole (192kbps, full)

damn, I love psytrance. I hope people start pumping out more psytunes here at TA.

Nice lead, trippy as hell. Cool vocal sample.

Kickdrum should be louder and more pronounced.

Bassline is fine, but could use some more verb and delay. Maybe even lots and lots of delay. Who knows, play with it, maybe I'm wrong on this point.

Nice job; only big thing that stands out as weak to me is the kick.

Thanks a lot for your feedback Shibby.

I agree with the kick, I have some problems with it, I think I'm going to layer it with another one so that I got more high frequencies to it.
Reverb on the bassline wont be such a good idea, it usually causes problems when I try that, delay should be an idea, I'll try that.

The pads are very nice. Good work with that Spectrasonics Atmosphere.

I like the way you build the energy up so slowly in this track. It's so seamless, too. I barely even notice that the energy's gone up except on subconscious levels.

Listening now... cool sample at teh start.

How did you get those sounds at the start.. is it vanguard with the LFO cranked to max? Thats a pretty typical psy sound which I wouldnt mind pilliaging...hehe..

Sorry I should be reviewing, not picking your brains

Nice percs. Best use of a cowbell I've heard in a long time

This is very dark, even compared to your usual stuff. The large soundscapes you've created are really the highlight.

I like it, mainly for the textures you've created but Shark still owns me...

Monkey Dancer 2 d(-_-)b

intro is very cool, the way you introduce the kick and the bass fits very well, atmosphere is like in some kinda of apocaliptic sci fi movie,i dont have complaints whit the kick, very well done track, this is psy

Thanks for your comments.

No, the sound in the beginning can be achieved much easier than with a synth, simply by (ab)using timestretching. If you are using FL Studio 5 I can tell you:
Take a ideally a bit longer and kinda evolving sound, I tell you: I used a toilet flush sound for this, hehehe. Then use the time stretching setting. Turn up the controller to about 1/6 of the value but it depends on the length and pitch of the sample. You might want to change the pitch, but basically you are done. Take a different sample if it doesnt sound satisfying to you.
Btw: A granulizer can also be very great for this.

Im really tired while listening to this. It's taking me to a dark spacious place. The atmosphere is awesome.
I love the sound xf.
Great bass drumm selection.
I love the end chior pads

Stanley Kubriks 2001 is a freaken classic movie. It's hard to beleive it was made in 1968!

The breakdown's wicked, I feel the rest of it could do with more synths going on, a bit of a fuller sound with more little breaks and changes. The layout's a little bit too "standard" for psy I feel, but that's just my taste - for me what really make a psy track are the little changes and messed up structures

Posted by cybernetica on May-26-2005 20:29:

Again thanks for your comments which are really appreciated

Stu, that's some kind of the conflict I'm in. I want to pack my tunes full, but I think sometimes more is less. I think in the end this is getting very full in fact; it can't get much more layers than this

Very nice piece of work with this one. Loving the vocal which adds a good extra depth to the track. Definately took me on a journey with the sound fx used and from 6:00 onwards the sounds gave me great imagery of being swept into that black hole.

A bit more emphasis on the kick would add to the track a little bit more for me but it still had me hooked so no real complaints from me.

Very good work

amazed with the intro
great tune
wouldnt categorized this as a psy tho, except for kicks
it sounds like pure space budda head
good work m8
nice as always, really glad your making into higher levels

P.S.
i dont really complain about anything, just from my personal experience, with a tune like this, which is not a chillout, i could almost imagine your kick being EQ'ed a little bit with mids and hights, you know what i am talking about, a great punch psy kick which is what its all about... but oh well who knows, sometimes its not exactly how it is as we imagine it, maybe that kind of a kick would ruin the whole structure... again you do not need to master it any further, i'd give it 9/10 on a pioneer sound production scale, which is pretty fucking good, considering that its pretty hard to convince me that "this" or "that" particular song is good when i am listening to psy tunes, which i have hundreds and only tenths are making it to my "mini disk" player

Hey man,
Listening ..... I usually dont review Dark Trance cuze is not my style at all, cuze I am more into Happy stuff :P, but u are one of the few Dark Producers I enjoy to listen .
Great Intro, the Fx are awesome as usually, very Dark Athmosphere u got on there. The voice is a bit loud imo, Bass, sounds fat, good work with it . Percussions are great, but I think ur hats are to louad compared wth the rest of the Percussion, the ones - - x - - - x, this is sounding very Psycho, I like .
In overal, mastering sounds good, I just would put a lil down the Voice, and those Hats, imo of course, excellent work as usual, keep it up man .
Kopi =o.

I like that intro Cyber, really evil!

Your percussion like always, great!

I like that bassline as well.

Nice use of FX , pads, I could say this psytrance I like, honestly, I'm not into psytrance, but this is a cool track to listen too.

indeed it is, indeed it is *noded in agreement twice

Its so trippy i love your formula. The beats match really well, and the sample placement is good. and the scartch sound adds flavor also the over all them of the song is nice and dark like i love it
Keep up the good work

Posted by cybernetica on May-29-2005 10:34:

Thanks a lot for your comments

Well, dj_palm, it's not really the typical psy I was going for, rather some kind of dark ambient psytekk. Listen to the tune Synthaik - Arcturus and you will see what has influenced me

Posted by The Drow on May-29-2005 20:56:

WHERE IS THE BASS ON THE KICK?
Where is the bass at all.
The low end is too light.
The atmosphere is awasome.
You should add more precs.
great track other then that.
