05.28.05 Hoofer DJ Night @ UW Memorial Union Terrace

The Wisconsin Hoofers Club (outdoors club, www.hoofers.org) is sponsoring a DJ night at the UW Memorial Union Terrace.

This will be an outdoor event, weather pending (the forecast looks good).

The event will be taking place from 8:30 - midnight.

I (Lucas Smith, www.lucassmith.net) will be spinning from 11 - midnight.

Other DJs TBA. I have an inclination that it will be a largely progressive night.

I got harsh's email about this and was pissed that i was gonna be out of town. now those plans have fallen through, so i juuuuuuuust might need to make the drive.

Yeah we do man, real soon... but I've got a feeling we'll (hopefully) be able to get the rest of the MW TA's to make a run to Central Wisco... thinking around Friday 11/4/05, maybe 8PM?

Nah... but there's going to be a big After party at my some friends house (HUGE!) and I think you and I will be doing some late night work...

We need to get together, I want to set up an MPC with Ableton running on top of 2xTechs, 2xCDJs... I've got some ideas, but it will take the two of us to get them to work...

i'm not very gadget savvy with the high end stuff, but i can come up with some creative audio solutions.

Don = ? = I think hip hop. Don't really know what he plays, but he's a cool guy. He plays a lot of frat parties, so i would guess he plays hip hop.

so it was a little chilly by the lake....but it wasn't too bad.

The first 3 DJs were hip-hop DJs and it was good stuff. Mr. S had an hour set, and he must have played 35 tracks.....he's quick.

it started to get cold later on and not many people were there. they closed the bar 20 mins before my 11-12 set

but we got 2 pitchers before this happened, so we were okay, but....the bar was closed...

in any case, i had a great time....i had drank about 5 or 6 beers before my set, because i was there since 6:30 so i was ready to go. i felt good about my set....took a few risks and they paid off.

this homeless guy all messed up was being a moron though....trying to talk to me and leaning over the decks and bumping the table...skipping the record security got the guy out of there though.

twas a good time....
