Above & Beyond with Andy Moor - Air for Life

Say what you want about the quality of ASOT. Say what you want about the quality of Above & Beyond's recent productions.

Nothing you can say of either changes the fact that this track owns. The opening beat is sick. The breakdown is sick. The vocal sampling reeks of Andy Moor. It's pure gold.

9.5/10, and it will number among my top five releases of 2005, no questions asked.

Im really digging this tune.

Adding that harder beat to andy moors signature bassline is great.

The vocal sample is nice.

Im highly anticipating this release...but when is it getting released?

agree, this one will be one of the top tunes of 2005!! can't wait to hear the first remixes.

Too bad I missed this... it sounds like a great team-up!

This really isn't anything special for me. It's rather disapointing in fact. Hopefully the Airwave Remix will turn it into gold.

everything airwave produces is gold man, or almost everything... considering the amount of productions he has made over the years thats a pretty big amount of top productions

This is as true as it gets. No matter what the whiners and bitchers might say, if there is one force that will keep trance alive no matter what, that is Above and Beyond coupled with Anjunabeats. A classic in the making.
10/10

Such a lovely tune this one. I heard it on Above & Beyonds show called Trance Around The World for the first time a couple of weeks ago.

I want this one so badly!

Yeah. I like the Original Mix better than Airwaves remix for sure. It's a little difference between them actually.

What he said.

Not my style really.

Good production, but it doesn't really go anywhere. It's another one of these "progressive" tunes that have wonderful elements but never build up into anything.

I'm sure its alot better in a live setting then through my computer speakers, but I wasn't really feeling this one.

Posted by 190proof on May-27-2005 03:41:

i really like this song alot
andy moor broke the ice
with the new supporting breakbeat bassline
there was an early thread with a sample of the song
and it really works my bose triport headphones like no other
i can only imagine what it does to that club system
but as with any andy moor or above and beyond track
its going to get hammered the fuck out of
so imma shelve this and bust it out 5 years down the road

Posted by miamitranceman on May-27-2005 04:41:

That main melody is massive.

Posted by JasonThomas on May-27-2005 14:54:

Brilliant tune, and I'm not really an Above and Beyond fan.

Posted by Sand Leaper on May-27-2005 15:06:

Sounds ok till it gets so sweet, sugary and sticky that all your teeth fall out. And seriously, Above & Beyond and Andy Moor in a studio together can only have disastrous results. Mirco might do something good with this, though my hopes aren't high with his recent outings in mind.

allow me to laugh. if there is anyone who made trance to the cheesy shait it is today its Above & Beyond. No progress in sound at all in the recent years. I respect the fact that you like them but dont fuckin believe that they are the saviours of trance.
