technics sh-mz1210/1200 vs. denon dnx-1500 mixers
can someone compare these 2 mixers for me? why would the other be better than the other. i was looking at the denon as i've heard great things about it and the price isn't bad, but i could get the technics for 111 less and somehow technics sounds better to me than denon. anyway i don't need any effects as i think they're pretty gay, so that's not something that'd make me want to get the denon over the technics. so can anyone recommend me either one with some reasons why the other is better than the other. and why aren't technics mixers that popular? seems that no one has them. are they crap quality or what is the reason? also does anyone know if there's rotary conversion kits for either one available?
thanks.
y cant u go to their respective sites and compare yourself.... or even do a search, both mixers have been spoken of on here

I have used the technics mixers briefly there quite good and the quality panasonic/technics engeneering shines through but if i was to compare it to the denon (which i own) i would have to say that the denon shines through and the tech has nothing at all on it... do a search of both sites and google "denon x1500 reviews" or techincs respectively and then come to your own decision... i think you will find most people on here prefer the denon... most technics mixers are more made for the turntablist.. which i rock... i just love my denon
I got to play on a denon x1500 this weekend, I absolutly loved it! It was laid out really well and fit my needs in all ways.. I tried finding all the efx, but didnt really have time to mess around during my set .. I own a djm600 and would never give it up, but if i had to have a second mixer, the denon would be it!

the things that effects can add to a mix can be amazing... Don't knock them until you try them...As long as you don't overdo them. Watch Erick Morillo, Roger Sanchez or Zabiela and then you'll see how useful effects are to a mix.
The tricks I can do w/ 2 CD players and an efx 500 on echo would be almost impossible to duplicate w/o the effects...
I've used the Denon and it is a pretty good mixer... And it's not too expensive... I've gotten a price quote for $675.00 for it. Sound quality is great and it's built pretty good too.
The only real issue is with the faders...Many people have reported a slight lag with them. I did notice a little lag if I paid real close attention, but not enough that it would be noticeable.
As for the techs, doesn't really seem like it's worth the $$ for what you get. But I've never used one so it may be great.

i seriously can't find any proper info on the technics mixer anywhere on the net no matter how i search. why is all the info on it so hard to get? i'd think the mixer would be a lot more popular than it seems to be. seems that no one has one and no one has tried one (except Timski
). the mixer just fascinates me and i'd like to hear if there is some reason why i shouldn't get one (except for denon's effects). i'd like to get more detailed info on it too, but i guess that's not possible then as no one has one!

I mean seriously this...

maybe the one I used didn't have the update?? The lagg wasn't too drastic, but if they fixed it, then the mixer is def. worth the $$$.
Yeah the updates are another thing that sets the denon apart from most others in its class (i know i know the ecler has it too)... But denon are still working on there next set of updates according to the experts they are ment to be out later this year, either way the first update featured....

My denon should be here by Friday! Can't wait to see how it compares next to the DJM600...
Got a brand new one for $625!

Yeah you will not be dissapointed thats for sure... I personally think it shits all over the djm but there are things i like about both mixers... either way you made a good choice and got it for a "noice proice"!
...Have fun with it
Honestly i am very happy with my DJM600 but the mixer hasn't been updated since the past 6 years. Almost all the new mixers out there (good ones) seem to have a much better sound quality than the DJm600 or 500 series (things will be very different with the 1000 for sure). I am pretty confident the Denon will outclass the 600 with better effects, sound quality etc. and Since they both have a similar layout, things will be easier for me
I'll Post a review of the 1500 Vs 600 soon...

i dunno, i went to a sam ash or somethin the other day, and they had the dennon on display and u could mess around with it, instantaneousely it looked very very toyish to me, and felt really flimsy, and had this really bad fake marble design goin on with it, just seemed really tacky to me, and i really really dont like the idea of havin to download updates cuz of lag and shit on a mixer, thats crazy to me.... but everyone swears the dennon is great compared to the djm600, i think its possible they had a very worn down one at sam ash, but i dunno.
What felt cheap about it? It's all metal! The knobs feel great... I do think the upfaders feel a little floppy (especially after you try the P+G crossfader).
I actually found the Pioneer to feel more flimsy...
As for the updates... keep in mind that Pioneer had problems with their original CDJ-1000's that caused a recall. Would you rather install an update or have to send back the whole unit?
There haven't been any real updates from Denon since last year, it's not like it's so riddled with bugs you have to contantly update it.
as i said, its very possible the one they had was probably shot from too many assholes fuckin with it or somethin
oh, i dont actually own a pioneer mixer, its just the first mixer i ever used
The denon is built like a fuckin tank compared to the djm... ive hammered mine since day one and it still takes it like a bitch... you would be a moron to buy a DJM600 these days anyway... there old school and past there prime... If your going to get any pioneer mixer i would say go for the DJM-1000 if you have a need for all those channels.
i never said id take the djm600 over the dennon, and i already said its highly possible they had a messed up version twice.
