Word the fuck up! I totally agree. I havn't even heard of the mixer he was using before.

Posted by Rhue on May-29-2005 03:53:

It's a decent mixer for those on a strict budget and it will teach you the basics. However it would have been advisable if you saved up a bit more for a vextex pcv or something. Either way Happy mixing

Anyhow, on a serious note, now that you've learned about this forum, I'd suggest reading/asking all you can before purchasing any more equipment. Most ppl will give good advice.

thnx allot M8 but like i said it was more replacement than upgrade (although the B-ringer is Better) i got the lineartech off of a freind 3 years ago for $3.50 and it is so buggy now i can hardly do anything with it. i think i would have been hard up to find a suitable replacement for less than 70 USD.

Posted by Driguez on May-29-2005 18:17:

hey man not to bust your bubble or anything, take very good care of it i had a vmx-300 and didnt last me a yr and a half

Lol, lets all humilate the n00b with our million dollar set-ups. Sooooooooo sad. All I have to say is you can have 2 Tech M5G's, 2 CDJ-1000's, 1 EFX-1000, a Xone:V6 and any other obscenely priced equipment you want to add on and still be a gigantic asshat of a DJ.

asshat... i like that. heh

I learned a lot on my old VMX Behringer isn't that crappy for us poor people

Posted by dknylady on May-30-2005 02:53:

well i have a behringer djx 700 and while it's not at all perfect, it's been ok enough to use for 2 years now. there's no way i could afford a pioneer mixer, and believe it or not , not everyone can!!!

personally i've spent a few thousand on vinyl alone and that was (and still is) a priority over a top of the line mixer for me.

well good luck with your new mixer and hopefully it lasts you long enough till you can afford a nicer one!

and now ill use my old linertech as an asshat.

I started off with a Vmx 300, four years ago. It taught me a lot since i was never worried about screwing around with it unlike the DJM600 and the soon to come Denon Dn-x1500. My advice for starters, get it and dont hold back on it, its a great cheap tool to learn stuff

if you want to beat the shit out of it, i suggets you start saving for a new mixer.. that behringer isnt gonna last more than 1 year if you manhandle it. ive seen multiple behringers die. crackly faders mainly, and just extreme overall wear on the mixer.

careful.

+1 on that

I learned on a Gemini PS-626 and while i got it for next to nothing, channels started to go in and out and the crossfader pretty much decided to stop working. The saying "you get what you pay for" is extremely true with mixers.

I have 2 Vestax mixers and pioneer and I'd say the Vestax takes the best beating out of anything. You could practially drop it off a building and it'd still be able fade nicely to each channel.

But a big +1 on being happy with it. Use it and learn on it if it brakes, just remember that at least you didn't pay $1000.00 for it.
