Please help a first time visitor to Miami...

Hi,

Will be visiting Miami for the first time from Toronto. I plan on seeing club space ofcourse (what intersection is it on btw?).

We plan on staying in a hotel on Miami Beach, possibly the Westhaven. My questions are though is Miami beach and south beach the same thing? What is a more "happening place", in terms of night life, people, girls, etc. Because the hotel is on Miami beach. Also what are some other good places to visit in terms of sightseeing, bars, etc....N E help would be much appreciated...

p.s. Hurricane season is in August right? I plan on coming mid July.

South beach is Miami beach, but Miami beach isn't necessarily south beach. "South beach" itself is really only the southern most few miles of the island known as miami beach. Anything north of that is old people and early bird diners. So when people say "south beach" they are technically going to miami beach. Its one of those "a square is a rectangle but a rectangle isn't a square" sort of things.
Space is in downtown miami, a simple drive across one of several bridges connecting to the beach. I never drive to Space (I take public transit which lets off right down the street, because I'm always too wasted to drive home) so I can't help you much with driving directions.
In terms of night life, the beach is your best bet. All the clubs are on Washington Ave, between 5th st and 20th or so, at least 40 or 50 within a 1-2 mile strip.
Hope that helps, I'm not too sober now so it probably doesn't make much sense

There are sooo many places to go party in Miami you wont have trouble finding a good time...

I would recommend:

Definetley need to check out Space

Crobar
Mansion
Opium / Privee
***(You'll find a lot of hot girls in these and its a good party)
Mynt probably my favorite place and without a doubt is where i've seen the hottest girls by faaar... Its a pain in the ass to get in though if you are not with girls or are willing to pay for a table but sometimes you can get in quickly

If you are just looking for a place to chill and have some drinks you should check out skybar... Really nice and big place to chill..

All these clubs are in South Beach (except Space) so they will be really close to u...
