the LAST heat. top tracks of 2001, suggestions..

k ppl we need six more songs because i bitched and moaned enough.


imo Riva - Stringer should definitely be in the polls beacuse of its massive caning by everyone
as well as Airwave - Save Me
both huge 2001 releases.

maybe Madonna - What It Feels Like For A Girl (Above & Beyond Mix) ??

im not sure if i or stamper will have final say on this..
but some feedback please...

I have no suggestions, but i think people should suggest songs in the first 6 months of 2001, rather than just songs that people are into at the moment (which is sorta what happened with the first suggestions). Try to think back as to what songs made you think "this is one of the best songs ive ever heard!".

And Patticus has the final say, it was his idea, and he did all the bitching and moaning, so be nice to him. Just remeber to make the poll 5 days tho, so it can finish about the same time as the others. Happy voting!

definately agree with you about Stringer.

These two also deserve consideration(I think they were both released this year):

hows aboot... wheed baskin - castle rock (which i still havent managed to find a vinyl rip of ) and.... am i right in thinking love in traffic was released this year? it could have bin last year tho... if it was this year ill nominate that aswell

Was Ultra Vibe - Choose freedom released this year, in that case I nominate it

I agree with Ultravibe & Airwave - Save Me, I'd also add (another track from Armin's set @ Godskitchen in March oooohhhh killer set!)

if no one else comes up w/ any suggestions in the next 24 hrs.. i'll go with these and punt two..
most likely wheed baskin or fire & ice and/or madonna

the other tracks are kind of consensus faves w/ either TAs, or djs...

I can't believe no-ones mentioned Flutlicht - Icarus (Daedalus Mix) yet, im sure there'll be a few to back me up on that one, prob Tu-face and i don't recall seeing Yanny & Gollum - Shadows and Light in there either. That is an awesome track and was popular too. DJ Scot Project - O (Overdrive) deserves to be in there too, that was massive. So theres my suggestions to make things complicated.

MISSED TRACKS

First off, MAJOR thanks to Stamper for putting forth the effort to do all this, even if some tunes are missed, it's not his fault. NOW, I think we have MISSED SOME OF THE BEST TUNES OF 2001 IN OUR NOMINATIONS! Remember in order to be nominated, it shouldn't be our personal favorites, but the BIGGEST tracks by popularity each year... I think another heat should be added to include these last songs, or redo the nominations and organize tracks by subgenre, I'm willing to help out if needed. I've done a thorough search on these tracks.

Tiesto - Flight 643
[No one can say this track has not been HUGE this year! In clubs, on vinyls, on MP3s, etc, extremely popular no matter if you love it or hate it]

Schiller - Das Glockenspiel (Humate Remix)

Utah Saints - Lost Vagueness (Oliver Lieb Remix)

Cygnus X - Superstrings (Rank 1 Remix)

actually yes once again, thanks to Stamper. but its my call this heat. nice research there, named some stuff i was going to...
flight 643 definitely makes the cut, its too huge to ignore
and id like to put in utah saints too, but not sure if i should

and riva - stringer is a 2001 release. for the last time...

Yeah some really huge tracks did not get nominations, and some lesser tracks did... oh well, no biggie. You should make another 2 heats if necessary, let the rest of the TAs narrow them down by voting.

Joyenergizer is not exactly pure trance, but I think it should be included, it was an ENORMOUS TRACK at clubs, it got non-stop club play. Swamper put it up for download on TA once as well.

Freefall was actually released in January 2001 (http://www.global-trance.co.uk/Beam_and_Yanou.html)

Glockenspiel and Synaesthesia were released in 2000, sorry about that.

Lost Vagueness I thought was a huge track as well... good luck with the heat!

the main problem is that a lot of the TAs who post now.. are relatively new and dont understand the impact of these mentioned tracks.. so voting, i dunno. freefall according to htfr.com is released 2000

Hmmmm...only if you feel there are two heat worth of good quality tracks then make two heats, but one would be easier. Also a lot of people have been naming tracks that have been their 'personal' favourites if you get what i mean, which are songs that other people havent heard of. Try to keep tracks in it that lots of people have heard and many people have liked, itll make the voting a heck of a lot easier.

And please hurry up Patticus, i think theres only bout 5 days left on the first 10 heats, and it would be good if yours could finish about that time too.
