I WISH I WAS THERE!!!!! I had prior engagements (In Vegas, still a shitload of fun) but I have a blast at G&D shows. To all who went, I hope you had a slamming night!

Great set, but sorry...the place stunk...literally. I don't think half the crowd took shower or put deoderant on. The B.O. smell was horrid at times.

I don't see how people can't small the horridness on themselves when they don't shower. It was just gross at points.

Near the beginning of the set, the whole front of the crowd smelled like something rotten, the middle of the crowd like B.O., and the back of the crowd like a backed up septic tank (maybe a toilet overflowed, because it got worse as you got near the bathrooms )

The smell slowly went away throughout the night at least.

Was probably due to poor circulation in the place...or the AC was off at the beginning...cause it was HOOOOOOTTTT then cooled down as the night went along.

Anyhow, do think the crowd a bit out of hand as far as respecting spaces. One dude up front decided he could dancing a 5x5 area when it was packed up front...he and the girl he was dancing with were pissing people off...and I saw a lot of this happening in small packets of the crowd.

Anyhow, I enjoyed myself during the night around the bar at the entrance (nice and cool and sound was still great in there) or at the back of the main room (well, near the walk way to the front bar)...actually think the sound system sounded best from the spot I was in, in the main room....plus the fresh air from outside right there killed the B.O. smell quite well.

G&D played a solid set.

Dave

PS. These are my personal thoughts and not related to anything Spundae. I don't blame Spundae for the B.O. -- thought Spundae did a great job setting up and throwing the party. People just need to take showers, lol.

heh, i liked the paradise lounge crowd. i didn't notice any smell, but that was probably because i was in the back. i'm just glad i didn't get elbowed in the waist and ear like i did at ruby skye

Paradise Loung always smells like ass/BO...it is either poor circulation or because of the crowd that Opel draws. not too mention all farts someone was dropping on the dance floor.

Other than that, I had fun, but I hate going to Paradise lounge for this reason.

Posted by exergo on May-31-2005 02:43:

yeah funky crowd...but i showed up at 2:35 and for the next 1.5 hrs they destroyed the club

that kate bush remix they dropped was NUTZ....not the infusion one but some other joint...WOW

i went solely to hear good music, and it was delivered...best $10 spent in a long long while....

I didn't notice any smell, but I was also more wasted than I've been in a long time.

G&D's set was great. My fav this weekend.

edit: but I wasn't in the middle of everything so I don't doubt it :P

I noticed a bum smell when i was upstairs lookin down at the crowd, then decided to move to the other side of the balcony, other than that, i didn't smell anything. i was mainly near the back on the dance floor.

g&d's set was way awesome, their track selection was great. they had the crowd going the whole night.

I'd never imagine being able to hear beautiful things at a club (I just turned 21 two months ago) but g&d made it come true

this was the best party i've been to so far. i really enjoy the smaller venues, more cozy and fewer fake individuals, although I did notice 4 fobs who were typically disrespectful to their surroundings.

anyone know the name of the "tracking treasure" song?

Posted by exergo on May-31-2005 05:51:

yeah that track after ATRC....tracking treasure....NUTZ

and that 80's vocal they sampled...shit i wish that set was made available..

and all teh funky electro basslines...wow

they are by far my favorite right now...and i missed ober half their set. lol

Gabriel & Dresden (Feat Molly) "At The Same Time"
the first song we have recorded for our artist album. which will feature lots of Molly's voice on it.

Want to say I remember the "tracking treasure" track, but not sure...the whole weekend is all a huge blur to me at this point.

You survive the night OK Dave? You were drenched, dude.

Smile tracking treasure down

Was it just me or did this song (with tracking treasure)get played twice in the set? Or I thought I heard two different versions? Just trying to confirm whether or not I'm nuts...fun track btw And thanks for ATRC, and Andain, I know they are overplayed but it's always amazing to hear the vocals.

Be Cool!

I most definitely smelled the B.O. on the dance floor so I managed to hide behind the speakers in the front. I find it amusing that some people are bold enough to go to the middle of a packed dance floor and start dancing as couples, doing turns and taking up chunks of space. I don't know if they're clueless or just don't give a crap. But everyone should take showers. haha

G&D were awesome, spinning some goodies. It was great to hear some tunes from "Bloom" again. What a great album.

Paradise Lounge is way too small of a venue. I had a great time, but it would have been nice to hear G&D at a larger venue again. Still another solid party by Spundae.

Hope to see everyone at the next party.

thanks its good to know im not going nuts and "hearing" things...can't wait for the artist album either, definetly one my favorite weekends in at home in the bay area between armin and g&d.

I wasn't that bothered by the BO, I was too busy enjoying the music... would have been nice if the place was ventilated though, I was nearly suffocating wherever I went in that place. Either way, that was a beautiful set and Gabriel and Dresden are very supportive of their fans, even got my Bloom disc signed and a photo with them. Can't wait till their next show, hopefully they book a bigger venue...
