www.yahaa.org

Does anyone know what happened to the board? I was on yesterday and everything was fine but now it says:

quote:
Due to internal backstabbing yahaa is closed for good, sorry to those who cared for this site but some people cared more for thier own popularity then yahaa. Big thanks to all those who made this site the great place it once was, maybe it will be remade someday but will never become what it once was.

Anyone know exactly what went on?

By no means was this a huge site. They had just recently made the forums and torrent download sections seperate because of complaints from their ISP and they didn't have near the amount of members or traffic of sites like isohunt.com or torrentspy.com even.

The forums are down, the affiliated torrent download site is still up and running so by no means does this appear to be some sort of government crackdown, unless of course they just havn't reached that site yet.

I was just curious is all.

The site with the actual torrent files and the links to them is still up and running so I highly doubt the government is involved. Unless they want to attack internet forums of course, TA may be next

I know but your government comment was pointed at my paragraphs about yahaa.org and not elite torrents

Hey peeps,

Just thought I'd sign up to let you know that Yahaa aren't dead yet! There was no MPAA or any authorities involved in our closing down, it was just plain old internal politics (i.e. a couple of Mods getting a bit too big for their boots and trying to take over the site from the original owner, Blasphemous). We're currently working on getting a new board up and running, meanwhile the tracker will continue to run, though I'm not sure for how long.

Anyways, we will be back so keep an eye out! Those damn MPAA haven't caught up with us yet

There are several new software technologies in development right now that resemble the file sharing structure of BT... but have built-in IP spoofing technology and a laundry list of other security features. Give it six months... BT will be old news, and the feds will be up shit creek without a paddle in a leaky canoe.
