Question Smirnoff Experience

Has anyone seen the ads for this event?

I've only read about it on a different message board, but the line-up is looking SWEET!!!

In the Guvernment:
Nick Warren
Tall Paul
John Kelly

In the Koolhaus:
Dj Dan
Green Velvet
Dave Ralph

+ locals I think

This is supposed to take place on Thursday, December 20th. I think advance tickets are $25 as well, but I'm not completely sure.

Does anyone else have anymore info? When does it start? or more importantly end?

Yeah that party seems to have a very nice lineup and you know it's well worth $25.00

Finally, I get to see Tall Paul and hopefully Nick Warren will spin TRANCE (Nick Warren@Meow was indeed a BAD ASS set) John Kelly I haven't seen before and Dave Ralph sucked big balls at Connectedv4

Galvatron will be representin'

Posted by JHN416 on Nov-30-2001 15:02:

looks good!

I think they'll have the whole complex open but I hope they have NW and Green Velvet play in the main room. I think the locals are Mark Oliver and Deko-ze which is a pretty good deal as well.

Anyone have any details (ie. a flyer) or this event??
$25 bones seems pretty reasonable for all this talent..

wow, da line looks very nice, its gonna be a blast TA's on dec. 20th

Posted by hansolo on Dec-01-2001 17:27:

Dave Ralph did a great job in the summer with anthony pappa and scott bond. Im am going to try make it to this event, it will be a good time.

The smirnoff exp. is happening in 5 cities across the world. I think its dublin (ireland for the slow people), san paulo (brazil for the stoned people), cape town (south africa for the drunk people), Toronto (canada for the reallly dumb people) and cause I fit into the drunk and stoned category I cant remeber the last city. Im sure if you go out tonight some flyer kid will have the info.

But if they are including toronto with above mentioned cities, thats a nice bit of respect on the part of smirnnoff.

Talking Looks like a fantastic night!

Found out about this a week or two ago and decided right then and there that I was for sure going to hit it up! LOL

The lineup is massive! I wouldn't mind seeing Dave Ralph again and Nick Warren is always a must see! PLUS Green Velvet live again, FOUK!!!!!

And if all of that isn't enough we get some of the best TO locals! Mark Oliver and Deko-ze!

Sure to be a slammin night indeed!

Leaving behind the music for a second aren't you fucking disgusted that...

a) its held at guvernment
b) its called *smirnoff* experience

.. granted if *smirnoff* wasn't a huge company trying to make billions off the now mainstream rave scene, I would be more happy about it. First small 'Benson and Hedges events', now smirnoff parties.. WHAT's next??

Goddamn, 2 years ago, they'd be only 3-4 cities in the USA that the scene was involved in.. now they have mega-clubs evreywhere attracting ******s evrey weekend.

How come rave now officially == club culture.. hopefully it's only a fad, it'll die eventually.. and hopefull when I'l 40, I'll still play a role in the underground scene.

I for one don't really give a crap that Smirnoff is sponsoring the event. I still think their ice drink tastes like ass...I'll be there enjoying all the dj's that they are paying.

If it wasn't for big corporations like this footing the bill for these events...they wouldn't happen Just remember that.

Peace,
Steve

Posted by Abbas on Dec-03-2001 00:57:

This sounds like one nice party to goto relax after finals end!!

and I also agree with Viceroy I dont care about who sponsors it, and when you wanna question this, you have to question society because thats the only way it can be done as said before

Posted by sohaness on Dec-03-2001 01:58:

who gives an f about who's sponsoring the event...just take a look at the lineup!!

steve.

#1 the guvernment is the best venue for events in Toronto. Can't beat that sounds system anywhere. Saturday night are pretty wack now though.

#2 yeah it is weird these big comanies are jumping on the bandwagon. But hey they are bringing in some sick ass talent! Will have to put up with all the advertising in the venue... but it means i may score some free drinks and that is ALWAYS welcome!

personally looking forward to JOHN KELLY the most. Been waiting for him to come to the T dot. His Slinky Album is off the hook.

And exams will be over and the place will be hype as hell!

All I can say is DAMN!

See y'll there...

peace!

True Dat!
If it wasn't for the big corporations sponsoring these events, they wouldn't even happen, or they might happen but you would have some crappy line up (cuz who's gonna pay all those DJs?!)...

And no matter what any of you say about the Guvernment, that place has the best lasers & sound setup in the city! I wouldn't even think of going somewhere else (except maybe for the Docks) if this event wasn't being held at the GUV. Now, the crowds are a whole different story, and I won't go into that...

Posted by feisty boy on Dec-03-2001 05:15:

when i've got my eyes closed, a huge grin on my face as some fat bassbeat drops, you better believe i won't have a clue who smirnoff is....

i don't care what they think they're achieving... fact is, they're footing the bill for me to go see a killer lineup of dj's for a reasonable price. fine by me!
i think their 'smirnoff ice' tastes, as viceroy eloquently stated, like ass.

Posted by TranceXtasy on Dec-04-2001 04:03:

Do any of you guys know if among the DJ lineup, there is anybody who spins mostly epic/uplifting? If not, who would you consider the strongest amongst the trance lineup?

Posted by JDamage on Dec-06-2001 02:44:

I am magnetized to madness........

will be there........

just look for the tall freak.....who's a little too coordinated for his lankiness........

peace

and respect to all of you that are gonna make the vibe happen.
