Artist Name: Fatboy

Style: Various types of trance (Mostly uplifting though)

Started Producing: 2000

Level: Amateur (Hopefully gear will help)

Fav artists: Hehe, too many to mention them all. You know Ferry, Tiesto and so on..

Software: Lol, I have used and switched a shitload of software. Started with FastTracker II, then MODPlug tracker, then Cubase, then Logic, then Nuendo, then Cubase again. I can't decide on what I like the best, but I've settled with Cubase and a little Reason for now. I don't consider this serious before I get some equipment. The software is, like it is for a lot of you others, holding me back.

Goals: I want to work with music. Hopefully various genres. Movie scoring is very interesting

You can find one song on http://www.mp3.com/fatboy
But it's over 1 year old, and doesn't really sound like my music now..

Peace

this is a great post!! its really interesting learning peoples history in music. mine is kinda crazy, i dont know were to start..

Artist name: Ian Hymers

age:22

also produced under the names: Hyper_kill(industrial, jungle), En Credible(happyhardcore), and The Violator (hardcore, hardtrance)

Dj under the name: En Credible(happyhardcore 98 to 99, newstyle hardcore 99 to now). i have also gone under the name Dj Unity acupple of times in 98 untill i found a Dj from the uk with the same name.

Electronic groups i have been involved in: Last (mest up industrial noize), and Mainframe (hard, uplifting trance with heavy techno influence i guess? we dont like being classifed)

level: when it comes to music you are always learning.

producing since: around 95 i belive...

djing since: mid 98

software: I have used EVERYTHING at one point or another hehe so i will just name the main ones. I started with soundforge, pasting things together from all kinds of sorces (it basicly was drumloops with sounds from chainsaw masicer that i mest with). then i moved to makingwaves, from there i went to buzz tracker. I used buzz longer then any other program, and it will allways hold a place in my heart. then i got into reason. that didint last long cuz i FREAKIN HATE IT!!! but the guy i produce with loves the thing so i still have to deal with it sometimes. anyway as of now i am working in cubase with a buttload of plugins.

hardware: only time i ever really used any was with my indusrial band and all we had was 2 casio keyboards, a p.a. mixxer, gutars, a digatech effects prosessor, a bunch of tape decks and walkmans that we used kinda like loop players, and a REALLY old radio that made some funky sweeping sounds that would come out different every time you mest with it..

also before i got into electronic music i was in afew grunge bands and a punk band. I play guitar, bass and drums (and tuba but i havint played it since highschool). i was best a drums but i am not all that bad a guitar.

goal: to get on a lable with my partner in crime so my tracks can reach more people and make enuff monny so i can just do that full time. also playing live and touring.

holy crap this is long... if you made it this far i am impressed!

lateZZZ!

hmm.......

Artist Nick: McBigMac
Age: 16
Produces Under: Moondust, Timelab, Blueshade.
Styles produced: Most trance genre's except goa, Hardhouse, House, Chillout.

Level: Wannabe Pro(amateur ;-D)
Production Methods:
Modplug Tracker, Madtracker, Cool Edit Pro 1.2, T-Racks 24m Orion Pro, FM7, Vaz 2001, Fruity Loops 3,4.

When im looking through this thread, i seed many "My equipment holding me back".......BULLSHIT..... fukkin bullshit, i even see someone dissin Impulse Tracker. Of course old trackers arent as good as Reason, Cubase etc etc, but then you have to be smart and use other methods of gaining the sound you want. And if you cant, then you just have to practice, you dont have the skill yet then. No one said youd be a master of music in a few months..........
