Is it just me...

Am I just in a prick mood, or has all sense left the music discussion room. I get called gayboy and photoshoped for shooting down a Barry White, Andain, and Lasgo suggestion for sexin music, and then under a worst track of the year thread people are actually throwing around AVB, Ozgur, and Ferry. I am so lost right now, so confused. I guess I just need a friend to help me through this dark time.

Don't pay too much attention to those kids who don't know what quality music is and just like bashing the experienced DJs/Producers. Most of them probably haven't even graduated from high school yet or are freshmans in college.

Are you guys agreeing that AVB and the likes are producing some of the worst tracks in all of EDM, let alone all of music. Come on. I realize not everybody likes them, but to say their production is the worst just simply does not make sense. On the other hand, if you are saying that Barry White and Andain should be played as quality fuckin music, well then I unorignallity and a flair for the dramatic reign supreme here in the forums.

And no, no this should not be in COR, as I would get responses that I get in other forums like stfu gayboy, noob, or something created from the mind of a comic genious.

Couldn't agree more (with you, not those guys). Being disappointed by a DJ/Producer(or any other artist) is one thing, but to call thier work the worst in a genre or that they're complete crap and things to that affect is completey ridiculous.

Dare I say that most here are independant and adult enough to not care about what others think about our own personal music preferences? I have to say that the reason why I stopped participating in MD in 2002 is because most of what everyone had to say simply didn't matter. There are some threads here in the PDD dealing with musical preference, however, they are all curiosity "I wonder what you listen to?" threads as opposed to actual discussion threads.

Occrider, I believe you are absolutely right. I have become disenchanted with the music discusion, although I will still probably post and have already today, for one major reason. In the past couple of weeks I have done three threads naming a song or a couple of songs, while trying to describe what I like about the sound of the song(s). I then ask for songs with the same or similar sound. I believe in a forum of alleged music afficianados, my replies should be exactly what I want. Each time the suggestions, for the most part, are not even close to the sound I want. I realize its not a tangible thing to try and judge, but when I ask for similar songs to Sander- The Fruit and Locodice- Cellar Door, I believe I am asking a for a very specific sound. Instead, I get these suggestions that are not even close and seem more like personal favorites, rather than the best suiting songs. For this reason, I have little use for the MD other than entertainment for my most bored hours of the summer. Its actually sad to think that in a place where people who allege to be true fans and take pride in the extent of their music knowledge, I cannot receive any good information on music.
