Thumbs up

I downloaded the first song and gotta say that u got the talent, excellent stuff. This song really has potential so I would like to give you a bit deeper analysis:

First about the build-up. The melody already starts in 0.27, It's a bit too early if you think dj:s to mix this but anyway the melodies are really good in first strophe. Goldenscan - Sunrise came my mind when I listened first 2 mins , not that it sounds same but the feeling is simiral. Anyway first two mins truly rocks, splendid !

Then break part:
Strings/stringpads in 2.16 are amazing, sounds like made with real synths so Im assuming that u have some hardware gear too. Only thing that could be made better is the synth that starts to "flood" in. Melody is ok but not perfect, needs a bit polishing. In 2.42 that higher played synth needs to be smoother, I didnt like it very much.
maybe it could use some more reverb and delay also but anyway the sound is too harsh now. Overall the break part is well done, needs just few improvements.

The arrangement is flawless and melodies good but only thing that alway disturbs me is that "highnote" synth. I really think that you could get a record deal if you make some changes and then send a demo somewhere, just Fintastic job

Read This!

Thanx for your feedback Breakaholic!

I know that we really have to spend at least second day with the song! Both songs are part of our 90min Live-set so everything is still running under MIDI and we made really fast 2-track-mixing of those. Hope we can arrange some time to finish songs and make deascent mixes.

There are three members in the band and two of us runs own studio so we have guite a lot hardies around...not that we dont use soft-ones, but the harder the better BTW heard your songs and those are really amazing....(isnt it that U basically use softies?)

Anyway....there is more to come so, please LISTEN these SONGS and reply

Hyv Soomi!!!

Collab
great track, you realy know your rythums.
over all it sounds very PRO, you could have righten a better main melody I think.
the things that I really like was the bassline and the build up at
the start and at the end.
the only thing I didn't like was the pichbend.

Collab you will be on track for a recording deal
keep up the good work.

if you work on that 1st one a little more, it could be really really REALLY good. i believe in you!

None of my former productions, I didn't even send demos anywhere. A local Dj send the first version of my new song (Skyway) to the right people and next day I got message from a Finnish label that they would like to release it, things happened pretty fast.
First I just have to make some changes to my track, it was too long (9.27).I have to remove some parts.
Now I've made the changes and I'm going to contact'em soon, then I'll know if they actually want to release it...

Still using Orion, Fruityloops and some VST-Instruments...

I try to upload a short clip of the useless part of the song I had to remove. maybe it gives some direction of the song level...

EDIT: Which didn't work...

Mazin

Bissi Is the dogs,

I dont know why some of the good stuff like this doesnt get put on the singles section, with the producers permission, i mean i think this is much better than some of the stuff that gets put up anyway no-one agree?

Posted by davinox on Jan-02-2002 03:38:

Yes, I agree! the first one is very very good!!!!!

But they are both named Biisi!! Which is gonna be called Biisi?

or you can name the first one Bissi One

Posted by Collab on Jan-02-2002 06:41:

Names...

Happy New Year 2002!!!

Ill have to put some links to finnish dictionarys...Biisi=piece...we are still working with both tracks so...names are pretty much "workin-ones" ....dont know yet how these tracks will end up in future! So far "Biisi1" is called "Starmine" and "Biisi2" is called "Odd Physics".

I had in mind to try vocals with the first one or make somekinda vocalmix out of it, but its still "a ball in the air"!

We should have now time to fix few things and try different kind of mixes or approachings...Youll hear in a week or two!!!

Posted by davinox on Jan-02-2002 21:36:

vocals would be cool, but keep that awesome melody, or maybe even intensify it with some big synths after a while. whatever, can't wait to hear the developments!

sounds good and professional, but the melody is too "floaty" and strange, and not catchy enough.

If played at a club this track wouldn't probably stand out too much, it's not prime-time material.

On the other hand it's good as more of a chillout tune.

Posted by Boy trance on Mar-17-2002 17:29:

Well I guess you guys should expect varrying opinions.. not EVERYONE will like 'em...

I love them though! BOTH tunes! Since I listened to the older ones so many times I noticed even the slightest changes that you've made on em... and they're sounding really good!

A BIG improvement was the 'pre choruses', if you will, the parts leading up to the main melody have been spiced up so they're a lil more interesting to listen to...

I like how the main synth for 'Metamorphosis' seems bigger and more powerful, I can't wait to get to dance to this tune in a club...

So is this it? Or will you guys still keep improving on them?

Posted by Collab on Mar-18-2002 06:48:

Evil1

Hello,

Any feedback is WELCOME.....you dont get lazy when u get one!.....yes, we gonna improve both songs!

I have bookings at the studio this week, but next week we should be working our asses off with Shifter!

-Collab-

Posted by davinox on Mar-23-2002 04:00:

YES!!!! Biisi 1 is named!!

Nice title... Metamorphosis....
i like it. fits well with the name "Shifter".

Starting with Odd Physics...
Looks like no changes have been made. I think the song could use something interesting near the mid-end, like a breakbeat. It wouldn't hurt to add a back-up synth to add some depth or something. I dunno, it just feels like the tune could be better.

Now...the main event...

Metamorphosis...

I don't know...but I somehow like the old version better. maybe i'm just used to it, i dunno.

I like the new lenghtened teaser buildup (although that synth added at 2:57 is kind of ugly) but as soon as the main melody with the beat hits, there is that just SIMPLE BEAT!!

I much prefered the old Metamorphosis' Beat, kick kick, beat, kick kick rather than the new BOOM BOOM BOOM..

all in all, marvelous job, and KEEP IT UP!!!! KEEP MAKING the songs better and better!

Posted by Collab on Mar-23-2002 13:59:

Tadaa....

Thanx Davinox....we are going to studio....not any changes yet....That was just another mix from the Metamorphosis....the older one was just raw-mix - everything summed from synths to one stereochannel.....all sounds are exactly the same.....this is mix when using separate outputs and multitrack audio and some panning more....Ive got many different versions in Logic and cant always remember which I was working on.....get use to it

Now it just seems that we are going for new material....and leave these trax for future.....but u never know what really happends when u start to work

Cheers,

Collab
