Stabbing across the street from System

Well, someone was stabbed in the parking lot across from System. The argument apparently started inside System.

My sentiments exactly. I don't even consider "Superfunk" to be a part of the System legacy.

it doesn't matter what night it is.

the fact stands that it happened linked to system and that is bad.

Man, 20, stabbed in club fight

HILDA HOY
STAFF REPORTER

A Toronto man is in hospital with serious stab wounds after an argument in the Entertainment District early this morning turned violent.

Police were called to a parking lot opposite the System Soundbar nightclub near Richmond and Peter streets shortly after 3 a.m.

The 20-year-old victim had been stabbed several times in the upper leg, including a possible puncture of a major artery, say police. He was rushed to St. Michaels Hospital where he is expected to recover from his injuries.

The fight began inside System Soundbar and continued across the street after security ejected the rowdy club goers, police say. It appears to be a random act of violence, said Det. Martin Vandall. Someone dissed someone else and they took exception to that.

By the time police arrived on scene, the suspects had fled. Vandall says a small crowd had gathered by the time the man was stabbed, and police hope these witnesses will aid in their investigation.

You have nothing to be cautious about. It was a Thursday night, two completely different nights and crowds.

I don't think it will be held against System. Somehow this voilence is tolerated if it's not a 'raver' night or some 'techo' music. It's just sort of accepted, but god forbid, someone may do some drugs on a 'techo/dance' night, you're an evil do'er.

disclaimer: the terms 'raver', 'techo', 'dance' used to quote the media.

Moi Aussi.

Often times, when I tell people I play there, they respond with "OHHHHH, I love Thursday nights there!!!"

...And I usually reply with "oh, I completely disassociate myself from that night".

the sad thing is the only thing the public is gonna hear about is 'another stabbing at one of those troublesome afterhours clubs'.

Not only that, but the bouncers did their job correctly. They evicted unruly patrons, sparing the club of what happened outside.

Well the article wouldn't lead you to believe it's an 'afterhours club'. So I presume, if you know it's an afterhours club, there's potential for you to know they have different nights. Thursday's at System aren't exactly unknown either.

So If an argument starts in McDonalds and someone gets shot or stabbed or beaten up out dide the restaurant then your not going to go for junk food anymore. LOL
Come on guys!!! At least they took it to go...

Yikes...I walked by there around 10:30pm or so... it was a shaddy looking crowd hovering outside of system and tonic last night.

System always has a shaddy crowd on Thursdays.

Posted by Jayx1 on Jun-10-2005 15:56:

I think it's time for System to review their Thursday night format. Nights like that make it hard for everyone when bullshit happens.

Posted by rabbitjoker on Jun-10-2005 16:15:

At least it happened outside.

To be honest when i walk to my car from work i purposely avoid that street on thursdays. Its pathetic what goes on there.
