Happycore n Trancecore

Now I haven't heard that much trancecore but what i have heard isn't like flying harmonic progressions, blazing arps, and some really intense development....it's a little bangy bangy (like US hard house) and not really what i like.

But OMG the new generation of Happycore tunes are nothing short of super trance, with some of the best chord progressions, melodic lines, clean hard drums, great synth tones, extremely well recorded vocals and eleborate arrangments...

where the fuck did this come from!?

I love it, i'm so into playing happycore into feel good dnb that i can't stand it?

anyone hear, Happy2bHardcore 6 or 7.....unreal....

Posted by Limit on Jun-11-2005 06:56:

you must be talking about happy-hardcore....its been around for years dude. We used to call those raves "candy raves". I remeber doing one happy hardcore rave and this dj dropped a super mario brothers Happy hardcore remix...its was crazy. I never liked the music myself...way to happy for me.

Limit he is talking about the newer happy hardcore tunes. Did you read his message or what? Anyways, I agree. Some of the new UK productions are incredibly surprising. A lot of them are definitely inspired by eurphoric trance but the bpm iz much faster. I like the Billy Bunter track "Round & Round".. The pads are really nice.

great feedback Phantax, exactly what i was looking for.

yes i read the post and I asnwered the queston in the right way.

He wasn't asking where it came from. He was using it as an expression that he was surpirsed that all of a sudden happyhardcore sounds a lot like trance.

H2bH is evil.... a yawning void of pure dukie

Oh lordy, I've got Happy 2 be Hardcore the Final Chapter and the New Begining (such revolting irony). Pure headache music, imo. If you really like fscking Happy Hardcore check out Force & Styles -Heart of Gold. I swear this is the most awful music on the face of the planet, imo. Well, I dunno that Lonney Tunes yee-haw trance track was pretty bad, country + trance, you get the idea. Different strokes for different folks.

Posted by Channel Surfer on Jun-12-2005 11:04:

nothing like seeing a room full of hardcore happycore heads fukin it up.....i've played a lot of places w a lot of diff genres and happycore creates the most intense rush if it's the right crowd....(imo) =)

oh and Phantax, right again....

Posted by Channel Surfer on Jun-12-2005 11:04:

although I totally see how you say it's "headache music" lol

Heart of Gold came out in '96. Have any newer examples? Didn't think so. You know that thing you do with your head when you sort of come up with ideas? Yeah, that... stop it.

To get back on topic... if you're looking for more artists, check out Re-Con, Breeze & Styles, Scott Brown, Hixxy, and Dougal & Gammer. They're probably the biggest artist writing more typical trancey sounding bits, some of it being pure genius. Other artists you might want to check out are CLSM, Cube::Hard, Sunrize, Sy & Unknown, Brisk, Vagabond/Euphoria, Frisky & Hujib, and DJ Storm. Hope you find more stuff ya like! Hit me up for some of my own stuff.

Sorry I didn't mean to offend anyone. I definately see where you're coming from. Check this remix out, the vocal is on H2bH the Final Chapter. http://www.dance-industries.com/vie...1605&track=7847
cheers
-Alex

p.s it would be the Lange - I Believe track. I think it's remixed by Kaos on H2bH.

OMG, Take My Time by Alphadelta is freakin' off the hook...I haven't heard anything like it in a while. The lyrics give it a lot of power...and are made by him, hehe. Me likey how that guy produces.

No one plays happy hardcore anymore. It's all about the freeform/trancecore. The stuff nowadays is almost never happy (its all in minor). It's also much harder sounding.

Naw man, it's still happy...just more serious and better-produced than it used to be (in my opinion).

Freeform is tight. Talk about inspiring music!

Posted by Channel Surfer on Jun-14-2005 06:19:

comtemporary pop has nothin on Happycore.....

far better songs, lyrics, production, concept, and raw emotion.

Posted by Limit on Jun-14-2005 09:17:

i dont listen to the new stuff so I'm probably wrong but back in the day all happy hardcore was, was "Euro" remixed at 160-180 bpms..and I'm talking about "euro" not euro trance...songs like "there is a star" by Pharoh...there was some crazy tracks too...I remeber listening to this cd called "The magic sounds of deep" and it had all this happy hardcore stuff on one track(crazy tunes)..but not my style anymore. I remeber there was this track by 2 Brothers on The 4th Floor called "Come Take My Hand" that was off the hook...come to think of it I have the 12" of that tune, lol(never played it though).

I second the reccomendations by No left turn, being a Hardcore head myself.

http://www.morecore.net
www.hardcorerevolution.co.uk
www.hardcoreunited.co.uk

Nuff new hardcore there for peeps to check out. Also, the Trancey stuff doesn't really go under the 'old' name of Happy hardcore(It died years ago)) or Happycore(Unless your from America i guess, flippin candy kids )but under
UK Hardcore, but there is also new HHC circulating.

This guy has got his shit on.

I especially reccomend Bonkers 11 - in my opinion it is all Hard Euphoric Trance masquerading as Happy Hardcore.

Check out Crazy Love by Brisk and Ham, Heartbeatz by ?scott brown? and of course Breeze & Styles - You're shining! Was there at Hardcore Heaven for the filming of the video of that one!

IMHO New Happy Hardcore has got a lot to teach trance. People need to just drop the assumption that it is either cheesey fairground music or bangbangbang gabba style music and actually listen to it.

Anyway whats wrong with a bit of love every now and again! Don't be scared of major keys people!

"I feel, alive
now I can breathe again
I call, your name, my friend
I hold, you close
theres fire in my soul
so run, to me, again

I feel you, I want you
I know your touch is all I need
I'm waiting, you're shining"

Yeah, Happy Hardcore was what originally got me away from listening to big beat stuff. I really enjoyed the uplifting melodies. Anything by UFO, Brisk, Trixxy, Breeze, and Styles is good. But here are some good uk hardcore samples.
