not sure about ticket info, tho audiorise is supposed to be posting more info soon. odds are you will be able to for sure get them through ticketmaster, if not a store up there.
Whats up, me and some of my crew are thnking of going down from Calgary to Seattle to see the show and just had some questions like; what is the exibition center like, have any of you seen shows there would it be worth the plane ticket/accomidations/etc.(other than seeing PVD spinning) or anyother haps info.
well, ok, a few things to say.
its going to be a massive.. so me saying if its going to be "good" or not, im obviously going to be bias, because i despise massives. if you like them, youll like this. i personally dont.
now, given that this will be a massive, there are some things to keep in mind.
there are going to be a lot of high young kids there, as well as a high sketch factor in general. like i said, thats normal for any massive, and will certainly be prevalent at this party. i generally dont go to the exhibition center (which is primarily used for massives) unless there is a huge dj i want to see, and if i do go, i try not to interact with the people tehre as much as possibly because i get so upset if i do. (last time, i was talking with a 14 year old girl in line who had lied to her parents where she was going, and was talking about how high she was going to get that night. another time, some guy puked on me and ran away while i was waiting for the drinking fountain).
with that said, its a very large venue, high ceiling, a few rooms... usually there are big bouncy tents and other random side things going on besides the event. pretty much nothing is allowed in, including pacifiers or wallet chains (the venue is also used for conventions, etc.. they are picky).
smoking isnt technically allowed inside, theres a big fenced outdoor area for that. the music is usually good as long as the stages are set up well.
i guess i dont really know what else to tell you.. if pvd is someone you really want to see, come here, i am all for travelling somewhere to see someone you want to see. seattle is a fun place also.
but as far as me praising the venue or the party, im not going to, because i know its gonna be a sketchy massive, like massives always are... just like your massives probably are in calgary (if you have them), just like massives in california, or anywhere else.
so if you want to hear the music, come on down. if you are coming for the vibe, save it for a smaller party where one might exist...
if you guys do come down, i can probably pick you up from your hotel or wherever you are at and take you to this so you dont have to worry about finding it/etc
so yea. dont take what ive said as condemning this, im just trying to really get you to realize this will be a very *typical massive*... with extra good music. last time i was there i saw basically the whole lineup from ram records, and it was great. and seattle is fun too.
Thank you very much for your reply. And I know what you mean about the little kids running around with there eyes ready to pop, it isn't very cool. We do have'Massives' in Calgary but i don't think nearly as massive as your talking about. How many people are there at most massives there? anyways were still figuring out the details on how we are going to make are way down there so i will keep you posted. oh and thats very fuckin cool that you would offer us a ride down there, cause we WILL get lost in seattle if it is just us trying to figure out where to go.
Thanks a lot
Te Ka

yea the ride wouldnt be a problem at all
would be nice to meet some fellow ta's anyways...
here, massives tend to have around 10-15,000 people.. nowhere near one in california or something. i think your main problem will be getting a cheap plane ticket because that is prime time and all :/ if you need suggestions on hotels or something, i can help you with that. if i lived in seattle id just offer my couch or something but i unfortunately live about 1.5 hours north in a one bedroom apt :/
so yea, just pm me or let me know if you need any other help... or my email is [email protected]

im actually not egyptian (the picture prolly can show that
)
but i am very VERY into egyptian mythology, and have been for a very long time. "sothis" is an egyptian name actually, for the dog star sirius and also a name that is associated with isis (she is sometimes called as such). the email "egypt1an" actually comes from my days working at microsoft, on the server it made you pick a password that was a combination of letters and numbers which i had never had to do before, so i chose egypt1an (only thing i could come up with
)
egypt is one of the places i really want to visit before i die.. i am teaching myself how to read hieroglyphs and my goal is to go visit the pyramids, and be able to read the walls
if anyone wants to car pool from vancouver, im game!
if not then...
i'll have to wait another 10 years for pvd to come to vancouver...
Suggestions on hotels would be cool since we don't know a thing about Seattle. Flights are looking mighty exspence so we might eithier just fly to Vancouver and catch a bus or drive straight up? We aren't to sure yet.
ill get on the hotel thing right away and try to get info for you soon...
as far as plane vs bus etc, it would probably be way cheaper (im guessing) to fly into vancouver, since its not international then. perhaps patticus or other vancouver tranceaddicts could then carpool with you guys and bring you to the party? then you wouldnt have to deal with a bus/prices and maybe all get a hotel or come back that same day (about a 2.5 hour drive from vancouver, bc).
and as far as carpooling in general, patticus if you cant find anyone on here thats going down, try posting on loungex.com also, im sure there will be SOME people from vancouver coming down for sure, especially for pvd.
one other important thing te ka, make sure that you bring some form of good id with you.. at least for us in the states, we have to now have either a birth certificate or a passport to get across the border (cant just bring a drivers license only, you need it too tho). i dont know if its the same for canadians, but the border is definitely not as lax as it was before.

Where do I get Tix? I can't find it at ticketmaster.com
well, tickets dont go on sale until the 8th... then they are $25 (u.s.) till the 15th, or till the first 2002 tickets are sold... 435 after that till the 20 somethingth (check the thread, it says for sure)... 40 after, 45 at the door.
when the 8th hits, the event is called "blyss", you should be able to find it on u.s. ticketmaster, and your credit card would automatically convert the charges for you if you do it that way. or it looks like you can get em in bc.

Sothis just wondering if you would know how me and my friends could get tickets because for some stupid reason ticketmaster Canada is not ifiliated with TM USA.
so why not buy tickets online from ticketmaster.com and pick em up in the states??
hmm thats really strange... here in the states, they let us get tickets for events in canada, as long as we tell them its in canada. you should try going to a ticketmaster in person and saying you want to go to a US event and see if they let you.. i don tknow why it would work one way but not the other...
if all else fails, yea, you can just order them online through ticketmaster usa, your credit card will do the exchange rate for you and charge you accordingly.. and then you can have them mailed to you, or picked up at will call. but if you are buying htem this early i HIGHLY recommend just getting them mailed to you, because will call might be very sticky and hard to figure out at an event of this size.
oh and about hotels, i did find one thing so far and i can look more..
i guess there is a travelodge right in downtown, its not walking distance from the event but its up near the seattle center in the middle of downtown. its only about 80$ us for a 2 person room, so 40 each (i think thats like, 60 canadian... for a downtown hotel, thats around the cheapest itll be). AND the good part is that they offer a shuttle (its really a bus but they call it a shuttle) from vancouver bc, to the hotel! it only costs about 25$ US dollars i guess which is a lot cheaper than youll spend on a greyhound. i have a friend who did that, and she said it takes about 4 hours, its normally 2.5 about by car, but still, you could just fly into bc, take a bus to the hotel, and then take the bus back whenever you are ready!
and about getting to the event, yea like i said, as long as there are 4 of you and no more, i could hook you up with a ride im sure... or you could maybe take a cab.
ill find out more hotel info pretty soon
oh and if you are gonna do a hotel, i recommend making reservations soon.. lots of hotels i checked didnt even have openings around that sime since its around new years.
wow! wow!
Thanks for lota info about BLYSS. PvD, BT, Christpher Lawrence...wow! wow!
I'm gonna go to Ticketmaster and see how tix are going. If anyone knows about a venue..., please tell me. I can't miss it even though Christpher Lawrence is coming to Van on the 13th. I go anywhere for PvD except flying. He will make me cry.
i highly recommend NOT getting them at ticketmaster.
i guess the service charge down here is about $7.50 per ticket. just go to one of the places i listed in vancouver or anywhere in person and buy them, since you will only pay 1 or 2 dollars instead of *7*
oh, gee...$7?
$7 for charges? oh, gee...Let me check Rite Aid in Vancouver which you listed. Thanks
