Thumbs up Sasha's Essential Mix (a few weeks back now)

This set gets better and better with every listen. I'm not all that sure how it would work in a club, but I'm keeping this essential mix for years to come.

I like how his style is so different from everyone else, and the Ableton seems to compliment his long winding guitar riff mixes. Awesome.

The 3 part mash up of the Gorillaz and Wavy Gravvy is unreal. Thumbs up Sasha, I've always been a loyal fan mate!

i know it's kinda old but essential mix with sasha and digweed - live at club rennasaince is also amazing

A lot of people are really feeling this mix, but I'm not one of them. Sounded like he was inbetween tracks for 2 hours straight, add that to the fact I feel he doesn't play tracks with enough energy without digweed being present during his sets and we have the workings of an essential mix I'm probably not gonna like.

Really looking for someone or somewhere to check out the albeton setup tho, going thru their website has only wet my appetite to check out what it is capable of.

I agree, that's why I point out the fact that it probably wouldn't work in a club. But let's not forget it's an Essential Mix, not particularly known for being 'bangin'.

Less club, more creativity.

Also, how many times have you listened to it? His style is an acquired taste, but I find it makes me want to dance the more I listen to it.

3 or 4 times by now. And yeah, I agree that not all essentials are meant for clubs, but I still just can't seem to get into this one. Maybe the night after going pretty hardcore, and if I need some downtime music, I'll give it another go.

Listening to Sasha Live in Istanbul 04-30-2005

First track now, but loving it. I hope he keeps this up cause I wasn't too impressed with his latest sets, to be honest.

edit: HOLY FUCKING TRIBAL!?!?

+1

He's been on fire the last year or so.

I didn't like it at first either but one night it came up in my playlist without me even noticing it and it was a lot more enjoyable. I found a similar experience goes for ISOS4. Leave all expectations at the door and just let it come up on its own and you will be left with a more enjoyable experience.

It grew on me after a few listens.
