Talking Tiesto In Concert - Official Press Release

June 10, 2005

Tiёsto in Concert
US Tour - 2005

Los Angeles: World-renowned DJ, Tiesto, and Angel LIVE, the touring division of Godskitchen, are expanding the Tiesto In Concert extravaganza to the US market. Building on the landmark events Tiesto headlined in 2005, including the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics in Athens, Tiesto`s Space Mountain: Mission 2 Concert at Disneyland Resort Paris and the Tiёsto In Concert shows in Holland, which drew 55,000 fans over two days, Tiesto has set forth to bring the US the most extraordinary live experience.

Aiming for a tour that reaches far beyond the established DJ show, Tiesto and Angel LIVE have created a sensory driving four-hour production. Tiesto will be immersed in a massive half-million dollar set with production features such as the signature Tiesto LED surrounded DJ booth, as well as a three story LED wall. In addition, visually stunning elements, such as a massive pyrotechnics and special effects show and more than a hundred lighting fixtures and lasers, accentuate the entire production.

Enhancing the intense visuals and adding an electric and magical atmosphere to the mix, the show will include more than thirty performances including aerial acts, Butoh dancers, Samba and Taiko drummers, flying Geishas, singers and Carnival showgirls. The performers will surround Tiesto in two different acts, as part of the Around the World theme of this year's tour. Distinctive visual programming will take the audience on a dazzling trek that begins in America and traverses the globe, accented with live performance segments from South America, Asia and other countries.

Tiesto and his management team from Holland and Brooks Pettus, executive producer through Angel LIVE, created the Tiesto In Concert US Tour after working together on more than thirty shows over the last three years. At the end of the day, this concept is as much magic and theatre as it is a performance by the most recognized DJ in the world. Tiesto is about to break through to the mainstream and we know we have something amazing hereI stood in the arena in Holland with 27,000 other fans and saw how he moved the audience. I am sure that the Tiesto In Concert Tour will reach well beyond the dance community to everyone who wants to be a part of a landmark event, and a show that is incredibly original and history in the making in the US, says Pettus.

The Tiesto In Concert events in The Netherlands were among the greatest nights of my life and real milestones in my career, concludes Tiesto. Im really excited about the US showsIm sure that theyll rock! says Tiesto.

The first of four events will be held at the LA Sports Arena, in Los Angeles, on August 20 and tickets go on sale June 10th. For full ticket details please go to www.tiestoinconcert.com .
Tickets can be purchased at TicketMaster or the Tiesto In Concert website.
Full tour details will launch late June so be sure to stayed tuned to www.TiestoInConcert.com.

Anyone with remotely good taste and an ear for the music could figure out that Tiesto went to the can quite sometime ago...

clovis: how so?

Cause i think your completely incorrect. Let me guess you like armins Boring Mcprogressive trash sound right?

Tiesto still hammers out the crazy trance beats everyone loves. Listen to his concert 2004 day 2 tons of great tracks.

He is still a pure energetic dj like he was in the past, the tunes have changed yes. But you cant expect him to keep that sound in todays market. I think he is much better musically than armin will ever be.

Posted by Shafer8 on Jun-15-2005 02:59:

Tiesto plays hammers everytime I see him. His mixing is as good as anyone else's. The track he produces are great so this is why he is number 1.

Who else sells out 55,000 tickets in 3 hours?

Tell me please

Posted by DaveT on Jun-15-2005 03:18:

What specifically TiC 2 Day 2? Why not Day 1? Oh, that's right...it was ass (but Day 2 as great)

Why not his Disneyland Paris set? Oh yeah. Cause it was ass.

Why not most of his sets? That's right. Because most of them are ass.

That's not to say he can't be great. It's all about the passion he has, IMO. When he's interested in doing well, he does. No doubt. When he doesn't care, his mixing and track selection is weak.

If you deny this, you are blind. I love Tiesto, but at least I'm not blind enough to see that he's lost his edge.

Get over it. Stop arguing. It's pointless. It's stupid.

No one is arguing here, the fact that this will be the 1st TIC in the USA and it will do over 10,000 makes it one hell of a party. There will also be an official TIC after party which will run until 8am.
August 20th will be a great night to go out plain and simple.

I'm talking day 2, that still is the best set i have heard in the past year no doubt. He also tore toronto apart with a killer 6 hour set in december.

But i agree the point is when he wants to try he is good and when he doesnt give a shit it shows as well. And of course for the concerts all expections are a lot higher

that being said whats the other 3 locations anyone know?

Posted by Petrogad on Jun-15-2005 04:05:

sad, Tiesto is the #1 Advertiser there is no way in hell hes the number one mixologist/producer. IF you say you've been to a tiesto concert and you **think** his mixing is great there is one of two things going on. You are very drunk, or 2, you did some drugs you shouldnt have. His mixes cant compair to some of the other not as well advertised djs but thats how the world goes .

I give him credit in the sense that hes done a damn good job at advertising himself which is why hes brought to the number one spot,

Yes i like the genere so dont give me this "you like proghouse" bullshit cuase thats a cop out.

Still i expect this venue to be packed with everyone regardless.

Put it this way: I'd rather pay 70$ to see Kristina Sky and Victor Dinaire tear it up for three hours each. Because THEY still love what they do and are in it for the music and not the money.

LOL what artists isnt in it for the money now a days, and those who arent, will be soon enough with hard work and dedication listen Tiesto put in back in the day.

Have to give him credit for the past of all the hard work and riskes he took.

FYI Kristena Sky does rock!

Wait a minute. Tiesto still loves the music, yes maybe the #1 thing has gone to his head. But hey I think all DJ's are DJ's because they love the music. Yeah people get tired and they can get sloppy, but dont sicount the fact the person is doing what they love and if the promoter is going to pay them then thats for them, In my opinion we are all in it for the money, I think Tiesto in Concert is more or less what a lot of people wanted when they saw the first DVD. Tiesto has popularity that no DJ has recieved before, I think this would inflate anyones ego, and then hearing it every night wehn you are comming on has an effect on a person. Tell me Victor Dinair is getting booked the way Tiesto is and I will agree. People know when they see Tiesto that they should expect an amazing night. I know i am going to this show in LA and I am gonna have a great time. I am sorry If some of you disagree, I dont think Tiesto will be #1 in 2005, but will be up there... I think Armin will be #1 next...
Ok I am done rambling.

I know for a fact both the DJs I mentioned LOVE the music and this is why they DJ...because they want to share this music with people.

I'd rather support local artists who will play better music, mix better and be more friendly and down to earth than some guy who thinks he is God and will charge his own fans ridiculous sums of money just to see HIM. The whole idea of "ME MYSELF AND ONLY ME" in concert is ridiculous...if that isnt the most egotistical thing an EDM dj has ever done I dunno what is...

Sasha is HUGE...hes a legend...yet he invites guests to his fundacion shows...because he knows he is not the center of the EDM world...and he is still humble enough to recognize that different DJs bring different styles to the plate and he wants to help expose them.

When I saw him at Fundacion, he took Desyn's hand and made the crowd cheer for him (Desyn). Thats supporting the smaller guys...and I have yet to see Tiesto do that.

Chryz707, this brings me back to my point...

If Tiesto thinks he can charge 70$ for his own concert...then he better put on an AMAZING show. And I mean AMAZING. The mixing better be FLAWLESS, the trackselection flowing, and the entire production perfect.

I've listened to his recent solo sets...notably Live @ Disneyland...and while he played some good tracks...the mixing was horrible...he kept trying to loop parts and do effects...but its sounded HORRIBLE...no flow at all. All the while some announcer is yelling "TIESTO THE NUMBER ONE DJ IN THE WORLD"...and I am just sitting there wondering WHY.

Well let me tell you this and anyone can back me up, when I saw Tiesto in Vegas at ICE for MMD, his set was flwaless and the crowd was eating up every minute. That night was flawless in music choice, programming AND mixing.

As for giving people that are new comers, he does help. From what I know when he toured in 2003 for Playstation he was the one that requested that Noel Sanger toured with him. Recently i know he has let new commers like PHYNN (who fucking rocks and is the next big thing) remix his famous track Adago for Strings. Tiesto from what I see and know has always been a gentlemen and does appreciate his crowd just like the next DJ.

Also if you think Sasah isnt about the money you are crazy, you probably like his music more and this is why you support him (which I can't blame you).

If the was a CIC (Clovis in Concert) you can't tell me that you would be loving every minute of it. As for people saying he is a sell out or has sold out, that is complete bullshit. What he has done for EDM has benefeited all of us one way or another.

Thanks Tiesto!
