the NHL so far this season...

what are everyones opinions on the season so far this year? i think it has been a season huge surprises. what with calgary, chicago, those rat bastard islanders, and my rangers and the fly line . but who is your pick for the cup this year? as much as i want the rangers to win id have to say that detroit looks just too strong but i was encouraged by the way the devils were able to beat them last nite. any comments?

by the way what are your opinions on fighting in the NHL? would you like to see it taken out of the game?

didnt calgary beat detroit earlier too? im no hockey fan, but when a team is doing well(like my flames are now) Im tempted to go see a game..now if only tix werent so damn expensive.

Football tix here are $20 a seat.
Hockey tix are $70...for nosebleeds

What are you talking about J?

a nose bleed ticket to a flames game is only 20 bucks. 10 bucks with a coke discount coupon thing.

I think Detroit has the best team by far but Calgary has beat them twice already this season. Calgary also has the best scorer (Iginla) and goaltender (Turek). The Avalanch definately won't win the cup again this year. I hope Calgary wins the cup but they haven't made it past the first playoff round since they won the cup in 89. They also haven't been to the playoffs since 95 or 96 I think. The Rangers may have one of the best lines but won't go anywhere because they have no goaltending.

As far as fighting goes. It should definately stay in the game. Actually there are way too many rules against fighting as it is. Injuries rarely occur because of fighting as oppose to the cheap stick work that european players use like slashing and high sticking. And if you took fighting away you'd see alot more slashes.

imagine calgary having the grey cup and the stanley cup ... no that's not possible , beating detroit twice doesn't mean u can win the stanley cup

the rangers do have goaltending. richter has been superb this season and blackburn has really impressed a lot of people with his maturity at his age. what they really need is to make their defense more solid(opponets average about 37 shots on goal a game ) and to get better offensive production from their second and third lines.

as for the fighting, i agree with you tap. it keeps the stick work down and it keeps the players honest. i mean look at what happened with gilmour and varada this year. varada took a run at jose theodore and gilmour then hit him knee on knee cause he knew he wasnt going to fight back. thats crap. if youre gonna take a run at a goaltender at least be a man and drop the gloves to defend your self, not turtle if you get challegened. but i will disagree that people dont really get hurt in fights. look at what happened with kypreos-vandenbussche and domi-russel.

Are you serious??????
All this time I thought the Flames fans were just impersonating Devils fans but $70 for nosebleeds is way to steep. I see why the stands are always empty.

ok..so I was wrong, nosebleeds arent 70, they are 20, and may I metion you cant actually see the entire Ice from up there...its actually funny.

whatever. Flames are gonna go far this year. I can feel it. that would be sooo sweet!!!

yes they are gonna go far this year but no stanley cup trust me

nosebleeds in montreal cost only 15 bucks (la zone molson , all you can drink of beer hehehe)

devils and rangers nosebleeds are about 20-25. isles are free cause i have a realative who works the scoreboard. but who wants to go to those games

Posted by fastmp3 on Dec-05-2001 10:07:

ahahahahahaha the crappiest arena in the NHL is the islanders one

Posted by integrity1 on Dec-08-2001 03:33:

yes the nassau massoleum is the worst arena in the continetial united states. plus the fans are a bunch of asses too. its a good thing the rangers beat the hell out of them so we could shut their smug mouths up for a little while

Posted by tiesto14 on Dec-08-2001 08:22:

i havent seen the Rangers play this well since 1994

i have been a Rangers fan since i was 9 and told my dad the Islanders suck..

i think we might have a chance this year..=)

Lindros and Fluery are great together...lest just hope he doesnt get hurt again...

and we should of kept Alexi Kovalev (spelling) old number 27
i still think he is the best stick handler in the league
hes got amazing skills

lets all hope they take..well atleast Rangers fan

=)
