Werd I wanna see it.

Posted by DeRangedMind on Jun-16-2005 02:21:

I will catch up on seeing in 3 weeks when theres only 20 or so people in the movie theater, just like I did for Star Wars: Episode 3

Posted by trancaholic on Jun-16-2005 02:26:

How full was the theater? I'm planning on seeing it tomorrow at 10 am, but might postpone if it's a hysteria.

Yes, we saw the 5:30 show at the Battery Park theater, which was about 3/4 full, it was mostly people coming straight from work Definitely worth the 10.75! I bet the evening shows are PACKED PACKED PACKED and will continue to be so until next week. It was the best movie I've seen this year in terms of casting (although I never really liked Katie Holmes, Christian Bale is the best Batman ever though I still think Val Kilmer was a hot one too ), special effects, plot (surprise there, the plot was actually cool) and bad-assness I've got one word for you: SCARECROW!!!

Go see it!

I find it hard to imagine that this could even come close to topping Sin City... especially in overall coolness.

I can see how you'd say that... of course nothing this year will match the sinister nature of Sin City... that movie had me gettin queasy about 5 minutes in, and actually made me cry towards the end due to the graphic nature of one scene because scenes where rape is portrayed or strongly suggested touch me very deeply.

Also, Batman, of course, never came close in gruesomeness to the scene where Elijah Wood gets his limbs chopped off in Sin City, and his dog comes and eats him. But I think Sin City sometimes went too far in trying to turn people off, I honestly can't name too many people who didn't think that movie was a little too gruesome. I certainly appreciated Sin City's cinematography and all the cool effects, the black and white with punctuated colors, etc... but Batman was just a different movie altogether. Call me a lightweight or a girly girl if you will... I guess I just don't like to see graphic mutilation for two hours straight... I mean, how much stylized violence am I expected to take?

Anyway, Sin City was awesome, and Batman was too, but what I really can't wait for is WILLY WONKA!

like i said in my last post i just finished backpacking so i never even heard about this movie, actually i didnt even find out about the new pope until a few days after he was elected. :toungue: honestly it was so nice to be out of the loop and not hear about death and destruction all day...

but to get back on topic i saw Batman Begins last night and it was really really good. The way it was filmed it was so dark, it was just was the way i pictured a Batman movie. I almost wish theyd redo all the Batman movies except the first one with Michael Keaton.

The film was not shot in IMAX nor is the audio mixed in the imax format.... The only benefit in the imax theater is the slightly larger screen.. And even then the screen will not stretch to the top like a IMAX film..... But a movie buff like yourself knows these things....

Posted by fr0st on Jun-16-2005 06:19:

BTW Cillian Murphy, from 28 days later fame. Plays the scarecrow.... And his char is amazingly creepy...

And of course half-wits such as yourself never take the pros, but always take the cons as complete canon. Yes, it is true that it's not totally mixed for IMAX, but it isn't just a larger screen. The larger the screen, the more different the experience: the more intense the action, the hotter katie holmes looks, the drearier the decor feels...and of course it wont stretch all the way to the top because of the 2.35:1 aspect ratio of anamorphic widescreen. So, uhmm, you're wrong. Die...
