KarateKid Review: Batman Begins

I had been waiting to see this movie for a while and glad to say it wasn't a disappointment. The storyline was very good and flowed smoothly. It wasn't all over the place. One thing I really enjoyed about Batman Begins is that it didn't have too much of a comic book look to it but still managed to retain that dark/gloomy feel of the original Batman movie. It does a good job at portraying Bruce Wayne's transformation into Batman and why it happened. For the longest time I was like, so who's the bad guy in this movie? When you do find out, it's one of those times you say, "ohhh, I should have known!"

You just can't go wrong with a stellar cast like this. I was surprised to see so many big names. Christian Bale does good job at playing Batman, as did Michael Keaton. Only complaint is the directing could have been better. I felt that the camera angles switched too quickly during the action scenes. Overall I give this movie a BIG

I hear the movie is indeed quite good, but I just cannot get over how stupid the new Batmobile is. I can't even look at it without cringing. It's ridiculous. It's nothing like a Batmobile should be.

dood.. the new batmobile or whatever the fuck it is, is sooo cool. I like it way more than the cheesy batmobile. You gotta see it in action before you make up your mind.

lol, I know. Everything about the movie looks really good EXCEPT that. I guess they were trying to make everything more believable. Looks like a cheap 70s sci-fi toy.

Saw the movie last night and I think the movie lived up to its hype. As mentioned the movie does a good job in developing Bruce Wayne's character from when he was a kid to his transformation into Batman. The plot line was good and the action sequences were well done especially during his training sessions. As for the tank of a batmobile all I can say is I want one of those. That shit tore up the streets of Gotham like there was no tomorrow, barrelling down freeways, stomping police cruisers, smashing through concrete barriers and even "flying". Finally at last a Batman movie that is comparable to the first one and not sooo much "Tiesto."

Did/does anyone read the comic books? I want the opinion of someone who has/does.

There was a point even in the 60's comic series that Batman was a very dark and mysterious character, and the comic book was very gritty. The Joker was also portrayed as a very violent and malicious character. Batman had many different faces throughout his lifetime, some very dark and villainous, and others, very lighthearted and comical, like the one that Adam West played on the TV show.

This movie COMPLETELY blew every other Batman movie out of the water. Many batman fans were skeptical as to whether or not this would top the first one directed by Tim Burton, AND IT DID! I haven't seen an action movie like this in a long time. Christopher Nolan took the small margin of mystery and ominous darkness that Tim Burton failed to illustrate in the first one, and ran with it and completely personified it in the new Batman, played by Christian Bale. The entire cast was great. I was particularly pleased with Michael Caine playing Alfred.

Apparently this movie is also supposed to be a new start to the franchise, completely negating the previous 4 films. A sequel is already being talked about.

Ive seen them with the new "batmobile" outside the chum building, and there was a group of reporters and a couple police waiting for their turn to get a picture of them inside it. They then took it for a spin around toronto surrounded by the cops.

I was looking forwars to this movie for quite some time. After seeing it just a few days ago at the special 12:01am showing....I was very disappointed. Maybe the hype ruined it for me...I don't know. The cast was great.....the atmosphere in the movie was well done...but it just didn't do it for me. Bale is a great actor, I just think he doesn't suit the Batman role.

Oh well I also went to see Cinderella Man this week.....now that's an amazing movie.

the nu skool batmobile looks retarded, but everything else should be fine ... I'll wait until next week to watch it.

Right on man I seen the movie yesterday and I can trully say that this is 1 of the best action movie's I've seen in a while (other than the Bourne series). The storyline was smooth, ecstatic & dynamic. I'm glad Christian Bale played the new Batman, he's the perfect actor for it. I strongly agree on the comment of this Batman beating out all other one's. I hope that the next Batman will be just as gloomy & ridiculously dark
I don't know what you folks are talking about with the new Batmobile. I don't even think it's called a Batmobile anymore. It's a flying tank lol Whatever it is, it is sick!

In response to the issue with the Batmobile.. well first off i think the batmobile was Bad Ass.. and the whole thing with that is this movie is taking place before the entire Batman livlihood actually gets serious.. this is just the beginning of it all and everything that he uses in this film are proto-type weapons made by Wayne Enterprises.. this is not the actual Batmobile.. they don't even refer to it as that in the movie.. its called a Tumbler and it was made for warfare.. so worry not!! i doubt this will be the same they use in the future Batmans!
I went to see this at the midnight showing on tuesday night and man was i ever impressed.. first off the city itself was cool as hell.. that is what Gotham is supposed to look like.. dark and dirty and full of corruption..secondly i think Christian did an amazing job at Batman as well as Bruse Wayne.. batman is supposed to be scary and that gruff ass voice he was using was tops
the only problem i had with it was this: Ok, Scarecrow is my ALL TIME FAVOURITE VILLAN.. he is insane and crazy and just a horrible person.. and i just wish there was more Scarecrow involved.. hopefully they will bring him back as the main villan in the next film and really play into his hate for Batman.. i think that the rivalry between the two is sooo solid.. it would be awesome if they brought him back as the full on Scarecrow

overall i thought it was amazing and strongly suggest it to those who were heartbroken fans from the last two movies and anyone who loves the comics

Went to see Episode III last night with a buddy, and then decided to make it a double feature picture show. Got our tickets for Batman Begins, refreshed our popcorn and went back into the theatre.

Must say Batman Begins made my night. Christian Bale was awesome, especially after seeing a whiney Hayden Christensen. He was also really cool in the lower budget film Equilibrium (go rent it, its excellently good!)

The BatTank was awesome... And please stop bitchin about it not looking like a Batmobile, cuz it wasn't.. The real Batmobile is further down the road.

That crazy psychotropic dust was pretty freaky stuff! Instant acid trip gone horribly wrong.

Anyway, definitely seeing it again!

Yeah, I have to say I really liked that chase scene. Seeing that car rip through everything in its' path was awesome.

Edit: I said previously that there were 3 batman films not including this one, but there was actually 4.

Did any of you guys read the Batman Begins trivia on www.imdb.com? It says of the many actors considered for the lead role, Jake Gyllenhaal was one of them....WTF?!?!?!?!
