Nu-NRG @ skillz 1015, 6/18/05

Im surprised that no one has posted about this show yet. Nu Nrg is one of the best live acts out there, they put on a great show for anyone who loves uplifting trance. Not to mention that their remixes are being used by the top djs in the world.

Is anyone going to this show?

I'd like to go only to catch Nu-NRG, which I am guessing is anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half - and then leave.

Does anyone know their set time yet?

Posted by fupaking on Jun-17-2005 03:03:

I'll answer my own question.

01:00 - 03:00

2 hrs of NU-NRG that's damn good. Cool I've figured out exactly
when to arrive and exactly when to leave. Yay!

Holy Cow!!! 2 hours...
They only played an hour and a half at love from above in Berlin,
and an hour in nyc...
and an hour in ibiza...
I bet it will be an epic set with old tracks included, which would be out of control. Cant wait.

And if you could post on nu nrg is at the church that would be tight, tacklist would be even better.

Yeahaha, we'll be at the C-hurch tonight. Off of our fuckin faces, for sure lol...try to remember a TL as much as possible, but don't get your hopes up

HappyHappy

I just saw them last night at The Church in Denver. Very awesome set. These two were definatly rocking it. I am so glad I got to finally see them.

NuNRG fucking rocked! Too bad Skills is terribly at doing their own lineups with their own DJs and Tom Slik, who played before NuNRG, KILLED the energy in the room with a set that just ruined the progression into Nu NRG.

No, I'm not saying Tom Slik is a bad DJ. I'm saying that his style is just improper to open for Nu NRG. Just like it was improper for Marco V.

I'd hope that the empty room he had for Marco V and the in-and-out flow of the main room (people started showing up in droves after midnight, went to the main room, and would just leave) would tell Skills something. Try something differrent next time.

Dave

pics???????????????????????????

I took some pics and a couple vids, but from my position it was hard to get very good ones. I'll post them after I am done with Father's Day!

As for the show, NU-NRG rocked, it was great seeing a few people that were obviously huge fans, very into it...As for the rest of 1015, the crowd fucking sucked. I got there right as they started, and left as soon as they were done...stayed out of any of the other rooms...but most of the crowd was GHET-TO...witness the fact that a huge fight broke amongst the triads (sorry no offense inteneded) that spanned most of the main room...GHET-TO!...at least security was on it and it didn't stop the boys from playing. And not to mention, the stupid e-tard puddle light shows going on right up front ...GHET-TO!...(come on guys, it's 2005, that shit doesn't do anything, and you are all in our way of dancing!)...and I got pushed by some chick several times because I was dancing me ass off to a group a love. What a crime! I wasn't out of control either, completely in my space!

I seriously hope no one I really enjoy has to play at 1015 again, because I am so done with that place, I hope I never have to go there again! The crowd that is attracts - it will never change. I hope that my experience largely didn't affect Nu-NRG, and they'll play again in SF...Choose another venue, different promoter, maybe things will be better. I'm glad they came at least....FINALLY!

Just my 2 cents!

oh yeah and who was that girl on the stage "attempting" to dance? Hope it wasn't anyone's girlfriend. What a tragedy!

Yeah I was outside when the fight broke out I believe because a huge frenzy started and people were getting arrested and shit.

Ten15 is definitely attracting a different, more aggro crowd in the past six months.

Arturo, I have pics...not sure how good they are just yet. Still need to go through them. You have any influence with Pam? You need to warn her about her DJs and Ten15. It's just not the same there anymore. It FEELS violent. (Though it's really hard to blame Ten15. They are trying to straighten the place up...just feels that the new crowds they are bringing in are aggro)

Posted by DaveT on Jun-19-2005 18:17:

Here are some pics. Not that many good ones....guess it was a bad night for photos, lol. Had to cut like 80% of them out.

Damn maybe its a good thing I wasn't able to make it down. It sounds like Nu-NRG did a good job but that crowd would've bugged the shit out of me. I guess its a good thing Spundae is booking most their events at Ruby Skye like Ferry and G&D in the coming weeks. Ruby Skye, although some shoving does take place, is a nice venue and in the times I've gone have never had an experience like described above. Anyways like Arturo said, bring on the pics!

Oh and one thing that made me think twice was "skills." I think it was DaveT who said "fear the skills crowd." Now I think I know why.

Nu nu nu nu NRG NRG...

Well, me and my girl drove from san jose at 1am to frisco to catch the last half of their set, and even though i missed half of it i did show up just in time for the songs i wanted to hear. I have a tracklist of half the songs they played after 2am but does anyone have the songs before?

Overall, yes I agree the crowd sucked. It was cool to see a couple of people going absolutely crazy for the same tracks i knew and went crazy too. But as my first trip to 1015 i was not impressed. The fight was kinda funny, it was one big white guy with like 4 asian guys on his back socking him. Quite a scene. Granted this nu nrg set didnt compare to the crowd at nu nrg arc ny or berlin or ibiza, but its still nu nrg... Heres the tracklist from 2am on...

Nu NRG - END KISS!!! (Tunige)
NU NRG - Dreamland (my fav song 2005 remix)
NU NRG - Astralis
NU NRG - Aloha P (best part of set old school nu nrg!!!)
ID
Nu NRG - Atomo, or tommotor, some newer track...
ID
Basic Dawn - Pure thrust (didnt let it break down )

Anyone see me? I was the one breaking it down in the pink polo in the back and in the front a bit...
