G&D vs AvB - Zocalo sound anything like Rank 1 - Airwave?

to mean the melody sounds the same except with G&D guitar string on top of the melody and a reworked bassline. and is the title 'Zocalo' a reference to anything or is simply the spanish word for central downtown?

I don't really see the resemblance to Airwave at all..

I think the track was named after a coffee-shop close to where Gabriel & Dresden & Armin produced the track.

nope it doesnt imo....

Yep its defaintly the first part of the melody of airwave

Posted by Nell on Jun-17-2005 16:35:

why couldnt this be posted in the other zocalo thread? are you special?

Posted by AMP on Jun-17-2005 17:22:

I think to make his point is why he posted it here. Because if he put it in the other stupid thread, no one would read what he is saying. What makes you so special to criticize him?

Posted by Kripple on Jun-19-2005 02:51:

so everytime someone wants to make a point on an already open topic they should start their own thread?
if no one would read what he was saying in the other thread, maybe the points not worth mentioning in the first place....!?

your a bigger gimp than the thread starter, cock off.

There is no need to be mean by telling him to stfu

Be nice and tell him how to spell you're correctly

There is a bit in this track, that is present throughout almost the whole track ... i'm not sure what to call it, but it sounds like a bell; and it makes the track remind me of Nathan Fake - Outhouse.

However i don't see any resemblance to Airwave.

now you mentioned this.. I figured it all out.. thats why I dont like zocalo.. its cause I really hate outhouse hehe

Think the guitar string is really really close to "Blank & Jones - Beyond Time" !!!!

Yeah I hear that. Nathan really turned his 'bell' up though. Its kinda discreet in Zocalo. I can kinda see where the Airwave link is coming from, but I highly doubt there is any direct relation. A lot of songs have overlapping chord changes in every genre. Its just musical nature.

Zocalo is easily the best track off Armin's new album in my opinion.

Posted by DJ Verbatim on Aug-26-2005 07:08:

^^

Agreed.

Posted by RJOllos on Aug-26-2005 07:13:

Some people take it completely negative when you say one track sounds like another, as if you are accusing someone of ripping someone else off. But i just think it is interesting to note the similarities, and that is one of the things that is what makes music interesting, and you can pretty much always find a existing track that is similar to a new track.

This thread is hilarious.

I can't make any connection between the two, though.

Posted by Mr.Mystery on Aug-26-2005 18:18:

The guitar melody is absolutely identical to the last part of Airwave's melody.
