Best mp3 player
so I was jogging the other evening and it came pouring down pretty hard right in the middle of my course, and to add to the badluck I dropped my mp3 player in a puddle of water so when I arrived home, I was still working, but next morning.. RIP
so yeah I'm looking for a new mp3 player, 512 meg max, good quality, shock resistant, and easy to switch from one song to another while jogging..
Right now I have my eyes on the Iriver wich seems pretty good, Samsungs are neat too altough exaggeritly small..
So any good advices?
and please dont mention anything about Ipods...

sony hd5 network walkman.
dont have it but ive heard good things.
worth a look
I still use Sony Walkmans with MP3 CDs. I must be getting old. The technology basically stores songs before it spins the disk again so the two AA batteries last a long dang time and it doesn't skip ever when I exercise. ONly complaint I have is that Sony won't let you crank volume at high decibels I reckon to save your hearing. Haven't heard much about the iPOD business, but if it isn't a higher volume than what I got, I don't want it.
Do those diskless contraptions produce volume? Also, how long do the batteries last? I'm not particularly concerned with price, just quality since I walk about 4-1/2 miles a day.

i like it a lot. $99 is a rip off though for only 512 mb. BUT, i did get an employee discount.
someone stole the emblem off my car, so i put the Apple sticker right where it used to be

originality comes first. always! you should have bought a tape-player. cheap and exclusivelly original.
o ya, shuffle info
Standard model is the 512mb for $99
Better model is the 1gig for $150.
its about the size of an index finger.
basic buttons: Play/pause, next/fastseek, previous/rewind and volume controls. On top is the headphone jack. The very button uncaps to reveal a USB jack (supports USB 1.1 and 2.0)
I used a flash, so it won't ever skip or do a wikkywikkyslimshady on u.
The just has a power switch along with two playmodes. One mode will follow a playlist, the other will do THE SHUFFLE!
The battery is enclosed within a magically sealed cover. That means if the battery ever goes dead, you'll have to send it back to apple....FOR $100. So when it dies, u can either just buy another shuffle or wait for the dead one to come back playlist intact.
the box (which is about 30x the size of the actual shuffle) has the shuffle, a pair of headphones and a neck strap.
itunes is a real blast to use tho.

anyone ever do a price assessment or how much you would be paying in new batteries*. Compare that withthe price of the rechargable units, and do you really save when getting the players with the AA and the AAA players?
*this is assuming you dont do rechargable batteries.
