Madonna - The Power Of Goodbye (Bren-F Remix)
Madonna - The Power of Goodbye (Bren-F Cheezy Vocal Mix)
Heya guys
It's been a long time eh ?
Well I had somewhat of a production burn-out and decided to have an extended break. But fear not - I am back producing again
So my latest offering is a bit of a cheesy vocal track, all done before ect ect.
I'm not 100% sure on the acid synth & the verse vocal, but other than that I'm reasonably pleased with it.
Those not liking the vocal - I may be twisted into doing a dub mix if there is enough interest
Enjoy
good work .. like it.
Its good to have you back mate!
- Acid reminds me of a tune that i cant put my finger on, but its good!
- Bass changes are cheesey, hehe not my cup of tea!
- Nice little drum roll fill
- Vocals sit in nice...maybe a bit of fiddling with them to make them more interesting?
- Not too keen on lead synth, it is becoming a bit of cheese fest!
- Overall mate production is top notch, but the song is too chessey for my liking...
Catch ya later!
Shep!
As is described in the remix title - it's intended to be cheesy.
Don't say you weren't warned
yeah been a while
still love your past productions, such as cyan dawn, or your remix of fatboy - rebound. i like how they sound clear, and uplifting
how are things going with the business, still in touch with Mondo rec or.. ?
vocals make this one sound cheesy right, but i still appreciate that clearness, the bassline etc.
Main lead is soft too, but that's what you were looking for i think. the acid line is cool, but makes it sound even more cheesy to me; maybe because it reminds me of that Divine Inspiration track
overall good emotionnal work as usual, though it's far from being your best work naturally
keep it up, i want more new stuff from you
this is brilliant man.but only without vocals. take them away and u have a perfect summer feeling trance tune.
Riialto
wow really like this remix
but please put dub version
Yaaaaaaaaay Bren! Good to have you back in the land of the living!
As for the song? Cleanness!
Every time I hear a tune from you it's always crystal clear, and that's the thing I admire most about your productions!
Overall the tune is quite catchy, and not nearly as cheesy as I thought it would be. Kick/bass/percs all very nice! The acid sound is quite cheesy, but I love it! Haha! Vocals are alright, not really my cup of tea but without them I feel the song would sound quite empty; They add another dimension to the song. Main synth is quite er... "happy".
Overall, nice tune. Thanks for sharing!
I am loving it, haha. I don't care about the cheesiness...it is still a mint production. I love how the hi-hats enter the rhythm in the beginning.
Oh yeah, I also would love a version without vocals...and the acid sound is nice but if you could replace it in the dub version with something more "serious" like a TB-303 sound similar to the one in Voodoo and Serano's Blood is Pumpin'...I would definately rock it in my car when the turbo is spooling, haha. Great job, man, this track doesn't need vocals to be great in its own...it is very beautiful. Mad Props! =o)
Hey mate, nice to see you back
I really like this one, brings a spark of life to these forums for me. Very happy feeling, though not as cheesy as you claim it to be I think. Just a feel good track sound-wise. Vocals are fit in very well, they certainly add to the track.
Bass is bad-ass, really like it. Percs are very nice as well. Good to hear your sound again!
Keep it up
Wim
very nice track!
the transitions are seamless and i dont find this too cheesy, but thats just a matter of opinion
im also looking forward to a dub remix
gj!
will
heh around 1:00 it reminds me a bit of Gouryella - Tenshi
love the bassline...percs are good but too simple imo.
love that fx (panned percussion?) after the hat+clap in the intro.
skipped the vox part
nice lead, fits well in the track. great pads btw.
you know, when playing it again, the buildup is quite similar to Tenshi's buildup...
anyway, a nice track, I like it overall
Cheers for the feedback guys
'Bren-F Vocoder Dub' is in production and will be with you soon
Hi there Bren, how you doing m8?
I'll comment with my headphone on my head..
Start is nice, got a lot of power, I guess more than your previous productions. That acid thingy doesn't really fit or so, it's a bit too random.
Break is empty but nice tho. A few wooshes could fit here to spice it up I guess.
Nice drum combo at 2:09, I like these things
Supersaws are a bit thinnish. The pluck thingy is nice.
Main part is plus fromage but overall it sounds pretty pro here.
I really like this bassline with a tad distortion.
Cool production, tho a few more details and some variety wouldn't misstand.
Cheers

I'm actually planning on making the dub mix a bit less cheesy and more 'summer-esque' so I will bear that in mind
Hey
Seems solid but nothing impressive in terms of uniqueness so far. Good control on the vocals.
And I don't think this is a cheesy track. Sure vocals are a bit cheesy, oh wait, I just encountered the Special D synth. :P But not quite as cheesy as Special Ds.
I think overall it can be summed up in my first sentence
GL
Hi Bren, love your work mate. I dont think this is that cheesy either, very summertime trance no complaints here..
whoa, you're still alive!
tune is pretty spot on, percs could be a bit thicker for me and it could do with some more fx and random stuff in the break as it feels a bit too 2d at times
vocals feel a touch drowned when actually in the main body of the track, they seem ok in the break tho
good work tho
good to see you back bren
i'm loving this too dont think its overally cheesey, the break is beautiful real takes you away. pluck sounds great too agree with jay saws are a little thin and vocals get a little lost in parts.
but other than that it powers along with pure energy and feel goodness. never stop doing what your best at bren, as wim said it makes a refreshing break from the regular stuff we're getting these days.
I love the structure in this. Transitions were very good, as someone said. But the bassline wasn't my cup of tea. Also a bit too much reverb here and there for my taste.
But in overall, it gave a good feeling. I didn't mind the vocals.
This absolutely beats the crap out of any other cheesy trance I've heard this year. It's something I could definitely imagine being released if any labels were interested and could get permission.
The acidy synth sounds cool but it might be better if it complemented the bassline in some way. Hopefully that'll make sense. Apart from that, there's nothing obvious that I really dislike. An instrumental version would be great as those chords and the way you've used them are really pretty.
hey Bren,
good to see you back on the forum again
about the track, i enjoyed listening to it, not as cheesy as i expected, the vocals are fit the track well, i would only suggest you to rethink those acid lines,
other than that very nice, clean production!
keep it up!

Any remix of a Madonna track I have to hear
Hah that synth early does remind me a bit of Gouryella - Tenshi
Track is good w/without Vocals.
Nice plucked synth.
Vocals gets drowned a bit with the lead going but that can be fixed rather easily.
When the bridge begins, it sounds very empty, maybe try adding sweeping sounds and fxs to give it depth and atmosphere.
Try rolling in that synth that comes in at 6:15, along with fx to introduce that new synth/lead...build up very quick tension and boom! that new synth/sound hits.
Very nice breakdown, and it def could use fx/sweeps to give it more depth and so forth.
That bassline is so classic and so cheesy lol, but it works with the lead though...
May be cheesy, but I like my cheese!
