Using your 'keyboard' as a Keyboard with Cubase SX??
A friend is interested in purchasing Cubase Sx to start to learn to make his own music and he has asked for my help.
The only thing is he doesnt have a midi controller and wants to know if he can actually use his normal QWERTY keyboard to play notes.
I have absolutely no idea if this is possible - I know you can use the piano roll to draw notes but is there a VST or something within Cubase to do this without him shelling out for a controller?
Cheers guys,
MP
Hi Messiah, try Bome's Mouse Keyboard click here
Good luck
if his keyboard has midi out ... like a plug in the back of the keyboard
then just get midiman 1x1 usb
and u be in bussines
cubase will pick up the signal from the midiman ...that picks up from the keyboard.. u can load up a VST and be jaming in real time
only maybe the cpu lag will make things laggie
You'll need a soundcard that supports ASIO 2 drivers if you want to do it in real-time.
Using old drivers or an old soundcard will delay the signals with about a second..
I have bomes mouse keyboard, along with a virtual Midi driver (Midi OX I think). You need a virtual midi driver for bomes mouse keyobard to be able to send midi out to Cubase, as it doesn't do it on it's own.
virtual KEYBOARD
no one above has still answered his question. This is a MOUSE-keyboard, not a Keyboard-keyboard!
I am also wondering, Is there a program/plugin for Cubase for playing the a "virtual" keyboard on the PC keyboard. (Like good old SoundTracker / MadTracker on Amiga/PC, f.ex
