okay.. after trying more, i still cant figure out how to make pads right in reason.. i'm not sure if i'm having problems wiht the matrix, or with the subtractor, so.. will someone please make a quick pad melody and post the file here.. thanks

psss randummboy, I'm not into Reason but the secret word for pads are: filter envelope and chords.

try to make pads with different intstruments together, so that the pad is layered. for example use a mellow saw sound for the lower part and a higher saw or soft string for the higher part.

forget matrix, its a shitty tool....subtractor or NN19 sampler are good for pads. just open up a piano roll and lay them out on there...or if you have a keyboard hooked-up just record them yourself...as for pad sounds just play around or search for samples..?
