Turntable help for TT 200

yeah anyway yesterday i was spinning some records both of my tables working just fine, then i go to spin Paul Van Dyk - Connected and try to turn on my platter but nothing.

WHAT THE F***, I have had these tables for a little under 3 weeks now and only used the tables for an actual 4 days and then one of my tables just won't spin anymore. Keep in mind that these turntables are BRAND NEW never used, and im a little cheesed.

What the hell could have happened, Anyone?

Thats what i was gonna do.

the only thing that bothers me is that cause i live in such a remote part of canada, i have to pay to get them down to Edmonton, yeah live far far far north, and thats gonna cost a bundle, and then i have to pay to get them sent back to me. thats my only real problem. Really choked with Numark right now.

Im gonna start saving and buy myself some brand new Techniques

Do you have fuses in the electrical plugs there?

Posted by Teraform on Jun-22-2005 04:01:

yeah i think we do, but i'm not entirly sure.

Posted by Dervish on Jun-22-2005 09:37:

Well try changing the fuse first.

I take it the lights and stuff isn't comming on and stuff either?

If not the probeblem might be a bit more complicated.

Posted by Teraform on Jun-22-2005 15:08:

nah, the lights still work, the platter just wont spin

TTS are not that bad you just have to keep em in synch with can be a pain..
and you never get a true mix but its all about the practice

I know people that lerned djing with a cheap as sound card and a cracked piece of software or the crapiest belts ,carlcox learned on belts
And people with the latest gear sold it it on ebay ,never mixed ,never really tried.

I learned in front of people using a 12 year old denon dual cd
with +PITCH UP - PITCH DOWN PLAY CUE . and two pitch controls soo...
you will eventually upgrade but dont break the bank if you are not sure
check the connection I am sure its the powercord it should be touching somewhere its not
find that place it (might be in the gear) and connect it back and you will have it running.

some software is A GOOD idea (its not 1996 any more) check out the cheap new beringer controler for hands on feel .
I am sad to admit vinyl is dying.
it becomes the past. NOT quite yet but pretty soon .
consider that before you fork out 800 dollars .
collect music and find a cheap yet effective way to learn
and when you have the money and the music buy technics
buy the efx1000 the pionner djm1000
its all gonna be there.
if you can beatmatch you can adjust to the gear.

Well to tell the truth, I hate spinning music that is on CD's.
I could care less for that type of "dj"ing, its bull.

Wheres the hands on feel of a vinyl record, wheres the sound, even track singles that i have downloaded that are direct from Vinyl source sound like crap when compared with a Vinyl.

I used to dj at a club with CD's and it doesnt take much effort to mix the music, but it is also a very boring, very annoying way to mix.

Personally i dont care for the DJ's of this world all turning to CD's. Anyone else can go for it, but personally im gonna stick with Vinyl for a while and see how that goes.

Did you ever turn on the motor with no platter?

I do that a lot, it just goes funny...I think it's so it auto turns so you don't have to have a hard time putting the platter on. It'll just put itself into place.

Isnt that acctually quite bad for the deck?

Apparrently cant it fuck the magnet up royally or something?

Just what ive heard... i wouldnt risk hurting my babys anyway considering there is also a sticker on the platter telling you not too aswell

Posted by Allen&Bream on Jul-07-2005 11:33:

Heh...well thats why mine dont hold a beat anymore

Posted by Synbios on Jul-09-2005 05:45:

Running your motor without a platter is EXTREMELY BAD. In fact some turntables (like my TTX's) won't let you turn it on without the platter.
