Question Your favourite 12" from your collection?

What's that one vinyl in your collection that you deem paramount to everything else you have? Doesn't have to be rare, but rather your favourite.

Love

Original release of Hybrid - Finished Symphony

Techno: Steve Rachmad - Maluma
Progressive: Tilt - Dark Science EP

Entertain us with yours.

I know you said 1, but apologies, I have a couple.

Not remotely rare, but I recently picked up a copy of BBG - Just be Tonight which was the very first trance song I heard that began the process of me getting into trance, and I still love that tune as much now as the first day I heard it.

Also, not rare also, but for a different reason. I have a copy of Immersion - 2nd Immersion EP, which I am sure most people on these forums do not know. It is a drum & bass/experimental EP with 2 out of the 4 tracks are great. What is special about this vinyl is that had this for nothing when I bought my decks and disregarded it upon hearing it. I owned it for 7 years and only this year I checked it out and discovered how much I liked it.

Then as for my favourite song I own on vinyl, there are many but perhaps Philippe Van Mullem - The Secret Folder remains a favourite since I bought it the week it was released in 99.

KarateKid

Faithless- God Is A DJ (Astral Projection Remix)

Posted by Floorfiller on Jun-20-2005 21:52:

i'm really gonna have to go with

Sasha - Scorchio (Original Mix)
Sasha - Scorchio (Darren Emerson's Late Nite Dub)

just about the perfect record for me...both sides are so fantastic...

Posted by Ian on Jun-20-2005 22:02:

for the reason jason mentions above, I choose Altitude - Altitude as the A side is silky trance & the b side is the euphoric-uplifting S.H.O.K.K. Remix

Coming in very close include a 1992 release of Age of Love, GD - Choral Reef, Fridge - Paradise & Bedrock - For what you Dream Of with a stunning Blue Amazon remix

Ecano - Run (inc. Z2 Remix)

Just because I was looking for it for about 4 years and then I find it for a quid.

Awesome tune with an amazing remix from the Solar Stone guys!

I have two.

Mark Knight & Martijn Ten Velden - Acid Test
- both sides here are phenomenal, and I don't go a set without dropping Acid Test. an all around great house tune.

Depeche Mode - Here Is The House (Gabriel & Dresden Bootleg Mix)
- got my hands on a test pressing (it hear it's going to have a limited release - we'll have to get dave over here to verify this) and it's still one of the best tunes in my entire collection. absolutely love it.

Taste Experience - Highlander (Original Mix) been addicted since i first heard it.

Posted by tranceDJ on Jun-20-2005 23:20:

'Sasha & Digweed - Northern Exposure'

In case that doesn't apply, my favorite single vinyl I own would have to be 'Paul van Dyk - For An Angel'

Posted by Psiweaver on Jun-20-2005 23:23:

yeah for an angel is a great one too.

Kamaya Painters - Endless Wave/Northern Spirit/Outstream

All great ch00ns + seksay cover art.

Scot Project - O

First track that ever blew my mind.

When I first heard it, I never would have thought that someday I would own it and be able to play it just like that DJ did that fateful night o so many years ago.

It's got to be either Andy Moor - Crazy Lady EP Disc 1 or Tilt feat. Maria Naylor - Headstrong. I'm going to wear out those records in the near future for sure.

Posted by WhooCares on Jun-21-2005 02:45:

Nalin & Kane - Open your eyes

and Taste Xperience- SUmmersault

and Amoebaassassin- Piledriver
those records still blow my mind...
no matter how old they are or get...
some of my fav tunes

You're probly right, but the label it's on; namely, Swim ~, is certainly quality.

Paul Van Dyk - Forbidden Fruit (Album Version)

Posted by MarathonMan on Jun-21-2005 07:13:

Lighthouse Family - Ocean Drive (Blue Amazon Dub)

As dropped by Digweed in his 1995 essential mix. !7 and a half minutes long!

Also very fond of Origin - Wide Eyed Angel (Lieb Remix)

Trying to get a lot of Lieb/LSG stuff and that's one of my faves!

I would have to say Orbital - Belfast.

The 12" i own is a repress, but this track is just so incredibly beautiful. I'm glad I own it

Indeed (wasn't very popular though for some reason). Malhela is the better of the two imo.

Miika Kuisma - Atmosphere E.P.

Posted by Arno F on Jun-21-2005 08:05:

Kamaya Painters - Far From Over/Cryptomnesia/Soft Light

best trancer ever imo

A tough one.. i have so many favs. I guess i'd go with the original '91 pressing of Orbital - Satan which is flipped by Belfast and another track called L.C.1.

You mean the first release of Finished Symphony (1999) or the first release of the original version of the track, Symphony (1996)? Symphony is much better than the "finished" version as it has some elements which got removed from Finished Symphony. Sasha & Digweed used Symphony in their mixes back in the day.
