Confused Why Doesn't Plush Nightclub Have any Lasers???

HEy the last few times I've been at Plush have been a lot of fun but what I'm missing is lighting system of some sorts. a few other clubs i've been to have it and it gives the music a whole nother vibe plus it can be correlated with the music as well. does anyone know why they dont' have one or where a club in vancouver does have one???

must say that the screens for PVD where real good last week at plush

go back to studying greg!

about the lasers and the lights, i believe it depends on the promoter. some union shows had lasers. personally, i dont care for them that much, some people like em i suppose, but you cant just have lasers, they gotta be coordinated with your event

the best lighting i ever saw was at the chemical brothers down in seattle.. three sets of green lasers, just going off the whole time and before the show i tole my buddy "i love lasers, i hpoe they have lasers here"

lasers ok.. BUT NO FRIGGIN SMOKE MACHINE... DEATH TO ALL SMOKE MACHINES WHEN IM TRYING TO PHOTOGRAPH AN EVENT...

Lets talk about the sound

Lets talk about the sound system, needs a serious up-grade
then maybe worry about lights and lasers

so true....but that big ball on the ceiling is just calling for a laser

Posted by apri_peel on Jun-23-2005 03:04:

man, that sound system is a whole other story.... think the only time it wasnt hurting my ears was at pvd

Posted by Mark on Jun-23-2005 05:09:

nothing wrong at all with the stereo at the last couple of twisted shows i've been at.

if it ain't hair-shaking loud, it ain't fun enough.

Dear mark
cmon
quality my friend could also come with hair-shakes,thats how they do it at....well lets not go there ,we r in van so we have what we have..but i think the quality of the system needs to improve in order to hear the full spectrum as much as possible
its more like terrible LOUD noise than anything else

True peels
i second that

sound quality is pretty much a matter of opinion only. as long as its not distorting, its really hard to judge what sounds good and what doesn't because everyone's ears are different and hear things differently. sound quality simply isn't something you can measure.

i can't quite remember what armin's sound setup was like but i don't remember having much trouble with it other than the fact that when i got near the speakers my ear drums would bump to the beat.

at pvd, the stereo sounded awesome once you found the sweet spot. (back of dance floor in the center)

Posted by apri_peel on Jun-23-2005 07:45:

the sound at armin was horrible!
way too loud. i understand people liking their music loud, but there's a point past which the loudness isnt noticible but makes a huge difference on the health of your ears. its also more difficult to measure the quality of the sound when its loud, even tho it is rather a subjective measurement.

personally, i really dont see the point in having the level of music up as much as possible as some people like it. it ruins your hearing, you cant have a conversation and it gives you a pretty nast headache too sometimes.

lots of distortion mark, few months back at TE..music was as loud as hell, what u call hair-shaking i guess...but crisp and clear, so was the system in TO @ THE DOCKS.I think venue owners and promoters just dont care and respect the croud and the art of sound..we could be going to plush for another 5 years....they would still be using the same system

What makes most venues in europe and the states amazing..is the clear and crisp sound..even when crancked up like crazeeeee

Haven't looked up at the ceiling since it was The Rage, but I remember they had a giant UFO up there...

I wonder how secure that big shiny discoball is .. can't imagine if the supports started cracking

Just bring your own laser pointer in and wave it around the ball

EXACTLY! The best spot in Plush, where you are sure to always find me, is close to the back/center of the dancefloor. Yes, sometimes it's crowded with alot of people traffic, but it's worth it.

Lasers, I always thought something was missing from Plush, and that's it! Lasers are freakin cool! It adds so much to a party and the music, especially with trance.

For anyone who has partied in Toronto, The Guvernment has the best laser show I've ever seen. Saw Armin once and they had this amazing laser show that totally captured me as much as the music did

With a laser on that thing... it would give a whole new atmosphere to that place.

Tiesto @ The Docks in Toronto was insane, my avatar is from that show and the system was pumping but still had everything else to go with it. but back to the lasers there they had a setup that added to the music and made it feel like a better atmoshpere, at plush theres just open space. thanks for all the comments its neat to see all the perspectives on this topic

Your avatar is from Tiesto at The Docks? Which time? Was it a Wintergalactic, or another time?
But you're right, it really does fill in space and makes it feel more of an intimate vibe.

Not to mention that you'd see alot more hands in the air

ya its the december show just after they put the new sound system in. I'll never forget ordering a beer and feeling the bass through the floor into the can and it sounding clear as a bell. I hope to see him again soon, hopefully here in august....but thats another story. who's in charge of this stuff at Plush maybe we could start sending out messages to him asking for a new stereo or speakers. who knows maybe other groups would put money into it.
