Just get Silence I as soon as you see a copy of it. It's a milestone, and the opening track Omid/Hope is immensely powerful.

Other favs:

The Fires Of Ork - Fires Of Ork 1/2 (Geir Jenssen and Pete Namlook. Nuff said. "In Heaven" uses female vocals in a way I've yet to see bettered in EDM so far)

Steve Stoll - Earthling (beatless techno pretty much. Steve utilizes the mechanical, computerized esthetics techno is reknowned for, just without any beats. Quite interesting results.)

Anthony Rother - Elixir Of Life (Art Is A Technology on Stahl Industries is better, but all of Anthony's ambient offerings are worth looking into)

Krystian Shek - Eisblumen (Icy cold, deep techno. Quite a different face from someone who made Nothing To Hold on Lupp.)

I have only 3 releases from that label and my fav out of them is '4 Voice - 4 Voice II', a fantastic, harmonic combination of old skool trance and warm ambient soundscapes. The other 2 being 'Namlook - Namlook XIV' and 'Ambient Compilation 2'. The latter has some wonderful tunes but none of them really stand out to make it a truly great CD. Namlook XIV isn't even close Pete's best releases either.. too cold and strange for me but still worth owning like i think all the Fax +.. relases would be.

Well, I do not know about most of +FAX releases, but I HAVE heard Dark Side Of The Moog X By Peter Namlook & Klaus Schulze, and the 6th track is nothing short of a masterpiece.

i wonder if the low amount of replies is due to the limited nature of +FAX's releases or due to lack of knowledge on the part of TA.

where are all the 'ambient' freaks?

Due to the limited nature of Fax releases I haven't heard much, even though I've been trying to find something. They just don't sell any Fax stuff anywhere near Iceland.
The litle I've heard are mostly Dark Side of the Moog releases. I liked those very much. I once saw a video on MTV for Silence's "Trip", it was awesome, been searching for the song since with no luck (even though it was re-released on Rising High). I also really wanna see that video again.
I've had more luck finding stuff from their sublabel, Rather Interesting. It's rather interesting, to say the least.

hard to find material... hence low replies... some great stuff though!

i have two fax releases: Xangadix & The MS-Series. Xangadix had been an obsession with me. MS is ok. My story about Xangadix in another thread says it all for me. I think most of the releases were limited to 1000 copies.

i'm putting it on right now. it builds up for 2 minutes and the melody just drops in at 2:40.

actually most were limited to 500 at one time. Pete Namlook does'nt care how many people get his work anyways.
