Anyone use Ableton Live?

Hey...after the recent thread in music discussion on the subject...I was wondering how many TA DJ's are using the software, and if so, how (samples or full tracks, or both?) and what your setup is like.

I'm going to purchase v5 when it comes out, so I'm interested to hear how some of you may be using it

bad idea.
electronic music was made to be programmed not played live .
thats what seperates it from live music.

'da fuck?

Thats whats the software is intended for its, hence the name "live"

Theres a thread in the production forum about this, though its more relating to production than live performance.

For live "Live" performance, you might want to get one of these babies, they're built especially to integrate with Live. The pots link up to fx sends and so forth.

I've been using Live 4 and Cubase to produce for the past few months. Live 4 is great for getting your ideas down fast without jumping do hoops with most traditional sequencers. I've made several quick mashups and edits on it for my DJ sets.

I've been looking into DJing with Live for some time. As of this moment there really is no ideal solution to a controller for Live. Here are some of the better ones:

Evolution UC33e MIDI Control Surface

Faderfox (but there is no distributor to the USA)

Behringer BCF2000/BCR2000

More promising controllers are yet to come:
Allen & Heath Xone:3D (personal pick for best controller)

if that fails, I have good hopes for making my own controller:
Mawzer Modular MIDI Controller

I use Live with two MIDI controllers, a UC-33e and an EV-XS. If you have any questions just message me or hop on AIM and I'd be glad to answer any questions. It's working great for me and I'm loving it. My performance level has upped a bunch since I've gotten those MIDI controllers too...it makes a huge difference.
I also use Live for production as it's what I'm most comfortable in - I've been with it since v2.5 and I'm just really adept in it now. It may seem a bit intimidating when you take the dive in for the first time, but once you start working with it it'll come to you

Would not a nuo 4 be a great midi controller aswell as a dj mixer.

SO sexy. I say we all pitch in and steal one.

My brother has been using it for about 2 years now. It's one of the best programs I've come into contact with. I produce with it, and he does both. If anyone is even remotely interested in performing with it, I strongly suggest you buy this program

that xone 3d

I love Ableton... not adept at it yet, but it's a fun program to work with live, that's for sure... Definitely adds a new dimension to live performance...

Right now, the controller I'm using is just a cheap one: M Audio Trigger Finger... But it works for the moment...

Damn that Xone looks sick though...

When i win the lottery, i'll be each adn every one of you a 3d
