Love Armin ft Jan Wayne - Serenity

I love the melodic part of this track reminds me of Adam White's Ballerina...just trying to get some feedback (heard it on ASOT 200) hopefully I'm not repeating another thread somewhere.

euuugghh horrid horrid

imo

sounds really rough & basic with too many blatent similarities to tiesto's adagio remake, and the strings sound like a half arsed rip of souvenir de chine, with botched chords

i even prefferred shivers to this

each to their own though

I prefer the remixes of shivers to be honest...

Thank you for assessing my taste in trance, with just one post...i appreciate it, i just happen to like some melodic trance tunes...I'm not saying that Serenity is Armin's best production its far from it (i like Zocalo with G&D a lot more than that right now) i just thought it was worth of some discussion...as for ballerina i personally don't like the vocals or the tempo much either they remind me sitting through a depressing opera in grade school, but i do like the melodic portion. Peace, and each to there own.

This year's Sensation White anthem Awesome song

This song is just terrible, not just ordinary terrible, but really a distinct spectacular kind of terrible. Stop the insanity Armin, please.

It's obvious Adago exploitation has given me a very low opinion of Armin .

I didn't know that Armin was such an uncreative, opportunistic whore. But I guess that explains the weekly advertisement sets he calls Newest Tunes Selected where he interupts the set after each song with the song title so people can go out and buy it right away!

This man is killing the trance scene.

What he said.

Oh, and I think I've asked this question in every one of the 1,000 topics about this tune, but... Where the hell is the bassline?

armin is a great dj and so are all his productions

but what was he thinking with this? where is the bassline, where is the part which is not ripped of from tiesto's adagio, where is... etc etc etc etc? he probably had a bad day but decided to make a track anyway, or maybe armin did the piano playing and jan wayne did the actual producing????

Posted by spc on Jun-23-2005 22:13:

This song doesnt really appeal to me at all. The B.R.U.N.I. remix of Serenity is the only mix of it that I can somewhat tolerate

Just noticed that this has been released as the b side of the Shivers vinyl.

I would have thought that they would have waited until nearer Sensation 2005 to release it or mabey it will be released again nearer the time.

Like said before the tune lacks a little imo, mabey wait and see what remixes are made.

hehe armin can't play the piano. remember someone off here (toufas i think?) interviewed him once and got him to explain how he used a piano/keyboard to key up his tunes and plan a set harmonically... but when asked if he could play the piano riff from communication, he couldn't

I think this track is shit.

The synth sounds way too much like Chiesto - Adagio for Strings, and i never liked those, i think they sound awful.

Furthermore the tracks somehow misses the bassline after the break. Boring stuff.

Seeing that there are a lot people out there liking Serenity i expect a whole bunch of tracks without basslines coming up

Then maybe you could edit your first post, so it comes up when searched for in the future ?
Well I love the tune, but I can agree on peaple saying it's not very 'full', as in, there's frequencies that need filling with another sound, or it sounds like that, don't know, it's just a feel, can't really describe it. The Adagio (which I love) similarity is rather blatant in sound and a bit in structure, one has to admit. I just love the melody (thx, Jarre) and the seemingly double kick. Lot of energy. Just doensn't feel 'warm', pretty aggressive sound, dancefloor material on a bedroom melody. But hey, I listen to it a lot, many elements I like, the sounds and that 'ting' melody in the beginning, very nasty!
Could be a future classic.

ROFL lol

For some reason Armin decided to release crappy tunes lately.
He wants more money hehe
Why won't all of the big producers will turn into one big okenfold?

So what you are saying is that more people buying tunes, kills the scene?
